	This is the long standing trainer card contest of the general pokemon forum, here you may create cards based on a pre-set theme. These cards are to show a trainers key pokemon and their progress. At the end, your card will be shown with everyone else's and the best ones will win. So play along, improve your skills and above all have fun A card is made up of many different parts and in this section I hope to give you the tools you need to create your own. Below are the basic components of a card and a few tools which you can play around with, experiment and use to create your card. Remember you can change the colours of these templates to match the theme of your card so show us your creativity Trainer Card Templates Badges and Ribbons User bar font Helpful Links Card Tutorial :: Background Tutorial :: Various Backgrounds :: Pokemon Sprites :: Spriters Resource :: Imageshack Customs You don't need to stick to what I've given you above, you can create your own templates or pokemon/ badge sprites if you wish. Regardless of the name of this thread, you don't even have to stick to regular trainer cards. You can use different variety of cards and formats such as contest cards, leader cards or even mystery dungeon cards! Keep everything in your card neat and tidy, make sure the pokemon, the trainer and the text are all aligned and centered where need be. Don't give your card an overpowering background which draws away attention, equally don't give it a one colour background that looks plain and flat. Try not to overcrowd your card, some cards are squished together or overfilled with effects so there is no space left, this will work against you if all the boxes and stuff are squished together so try to keep it simple (-ish). Best thing you can do is to make your own style of card. If you have a favorite template that works or a favorite font or anything, use to make your own style of cards. Also remember if you cant do special effects or custom templates, you can still make great cards. I never used custom template or fancy photoshop effects, all I used are the basic templates at the top and ms paint yet look at where I am now, you could do the same! Finally even though this is a contest between people do remember to have fun and enjoy playing along here! 1. One card per round only 2. No stealing other peoples work, even if you ask them to make it for you 3. What ever card you first post up is the card you are going to enter 4: Do not post other sprites or cards here, please use the Sprite Gallery or the Trainer Card Gallery where appropriate 5: All other Neoseeker rules apply The regular rounds are the contests you are most familiar with and will see the most. This is when a theme is set for the round and your card must follow the requirements of that theme. When you make your card post it here and others may leave a comment about your card. Equally if you see someone else's card and there is something you wish to say about it, feel free to say but remember to keep to neoseekers rules (keep it kind and clean). At the end of the round, all the cards are collected together into 1 post by a judge and are graded so you can see how well you did compared to everyone else. The top 3 best cards are awarded a number of points depending on how what place they got. The points for each place are: 1st: 3 points 2nd: 2 points 3rd: 1 point At the end, all the points are collected together and put onto the scoreboard. The more times you win, the more points you'll get and the more well known you might become so best start stacking them up! Each round is about a week long but the time can vary depending on how much activity there is in this contest Current round: Open No restrictions, anything goes! Current C/R: 4 Average C/R: 4.78 Previous Rounds Winner Fourthbeat :: Fire Round :: A(+) Tournaments are run slightly differently to the regular rounds but the basic principles are the same. You will begin with a set theme but only you and 1 other person will be entering in this theme, other people will be facing off in a similar manner but with different themes. People participating in tournaments will PM their card to the judge running it instead of posting it in this thread to avoid cheating. After all the entries have been PMed to the judge in command, he will grade your cards and state who out of the both of you has made the better card. This will then continue repeatedly using a specified system untill the best of the best is named, the tournament winner. Special prizes may be given out to people who play but that is up to the host judge to deside. Tournaments wont happen often and will only start when a host judge has created one. All relevent information will be posted below: Status: Completed Host: GPFContest - Overview The tournament has finally began! This time we shall be using a round robin format to play. For those who dont know, this means each player will eventually play against all the other players to win tournament points (1 point per win) and at the end, the winner is the one with the most points. Each round will have 4 matches with 4 different themes and you only have 7 days to make and send in your entry. Please PM your entry to GPFContest. The tournament shall be 7 rounds long lasting little over 4 weeks in total Team Rounds This tournament unlike most, has a twist! After the 2nd, 4th and 6th round, there is going to be a bonus team round. We will then split all 8 contestants into 2 teams and they all have to work together to make a card. Each team member must contribute something to the card and when submitting it, you must say what each member did. At the end, the winning team shall win 2 tournament points each! Tournament Rules In addition to the normal rules, this tournament has some additional rules: 1. You must create a new card. If either of us spots a card used before, it fails 2. When submitting a team card, each of you must have done atleast 1 thing on the card and you must say what you did. If not then it shall fail Results and Rewards 1st Place: Fourthbeat Reward: 6 Points, Red name and the ability to change the regular round theme to an open round for him alone 3 times! 2nd Place: Artirtico Reward: 4 Points and the ability to change the regular round theme to an open round for him alone once 3rd Place: Aether Reward: 2 Points 1. gamez expert - 2. Artirtico - We are the only currently acting judges in this fourms contest. We handle everything here such as judgings, admin work, organising events, dealing with disputes and questions and here for general advice if you need it. Our names appear purple (like the masterball) on the scoreboard to signify this. The person doing the judging will alternate each round unless one of us needs to fill in for the other. This is to signify that you are skilled and have shown it within this forum's contest. Those with a red name have won the most recent TC tournament. Those with a purple name are the currently appointed judges. The inactive list is a list of people who in the past here has won some points but since then have become inactive or in some cases have left neoseeker. When a round has been judged, the inactive list will not show but will remain here on the first post, this is to save space. 	For the theme, why not go for something plain and simple? Colour round, type round, beauty/smart/cool/cute/tough round? -------------------

	Wow, really surprised I got a point over FB. I personally thought his was far better. For the theme, how about a 'Other Neo-member' theme? I remember doing this before a while back and being one of the more enjoyable rounds. ------------------- We don't like it.

	xD Just like you said, it was for numbers. I actually have to say I like yours better, Vollando. I had no inspiration and kind of stumbled into something that could've been better if I was actually motivated to give it my full attention. :3 Still, happy with third. As for the new round, I think it'd be nice to have a "Other Member" round, those are always quite fun :3 Plus we've had a lot of these type/colour/egg group type rounds lately, and in other contests as well.

	quote gamez expert Few things which you might of missed though are the background coming through the top and pieces of the border showing on the left of the name box but not the right (dunno if thats intentional or not). lol, bg showing through at the top was intentional, inconsistent border wasn't. I only realised that I forgot to make a similiar design on the right until it was too late. 	Woo, one set of coursework outta the way - hopefully I can be at least a little bit more active now Nice job with the judging GE and I'm liking the new theme I remember the last time there was a round like this, I found out that a friend of mine from a non-Pokemon forum had played the earlier games so I 'interviewed' him on everything 'Pokemon and Trainer Card' to make a card about him which was rather fun I'll look forward to seeing who people choose and what they come up with..... Pick Me, Pick Me! .....with there hopefully being some great results Good Luck! As for a tournament, there aren't any plans for one here at current...with the new contest in SoulSilver having been set up, perhaps they might host the next one...I don't know at current -------------------

	There may or may not be a Soul Silver Tournament on the way :3 Currently it's just a bunch of brainstorming in my head, but we'll see. If there's a tournament announced, everyone will be sure to know. :3
