What's with the tank for a car? |
|
I know it's not really a tank but it sure looks like one. But anyways, could anyone find out why they chose that specific car to be his new batmobile? It just doesn't fit into the movie at all. I mean it's too bulky for one thing, how is it suppose to move through the streets and down allyways if he might have to go down one? Where are the bat specifics that signify the car? He doesn't need it but it does fit better.
From the article I read by the person who created the car, he just put a bunch of car parts together to make it. But seriously, they could've done better for the car. I think they just saw the car liked it and just decided to use it, they probably weren't even thinking about it fitting into the movie. But then again, they may have wanted to try and give the movie style or stray from the usual designs of the cars. I don't know, but I surely would like to. But even though the car may not fit in or sucks, the movie seems like it just might be a big hit. Here's the history of the batmobiles and tell me how the heck that SUV wanna-be pile of car scraps compares. 1950's batmobile(only seen in comics) ![]() 1966 batmobile(tv series) ![]() 1980s batmobile(comic) ![]() 1992 batmobile(batman returns) ![]() batmobile from cartoon tv series(I call it 'the batlimo') ![]() 1995 batmobile(batman forever) ![]() 1997 batmobile(batman & Robin) ![]() Now...today's batmobile, stupid suv craze Front Back(the only good part of it) -------------------

except for the wheels (easy target since they are so big and exposed) i think the vehicle is great. Batman should be driving a heavily armored vehicle that is realistic to the technology given. there arent the typical bat fins or anything on there but i am glad since in the last few movies the batmobiles looked slow, cumbersome, and the damned fins waved back and forth in the air and looked completely unconvincing.
The whole idea for this vehicle was that it was supposed to have been developed as a highly armored powerful fast moving vehicle to build bridges in contested areas. the vehicle would get enough speed to jump rivers and tow behind it a cable line which then would be secured on the other side and a bridge could be built. I would much rather see a solid vehicle that actually moves fast than some slow piece of fibre glass that has cheesey gaudy fins waving in the air ------------------- Confuscious say "Elevator smell very different to midget"

There have been quite a few more batmobiles than those posted above which very few of come from the source material.
This design comes from the idea of the batmobile as more of an urban tank/assault from the comics of the past 10-15 years or so. Like it or not, it's more in fitting of Batman using a practical weapon than a tricked out 007/Knight Rider type means of transportation. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles

That thing needs either a bit more ground clearance or tank tracks. He probably needs something which works off-road considering he drives it from the cave to the city. I always imagined him using backroads on that trip. The wide wheel base is a nice touch though, will prevent it from tipping over.

It fits in with the movie really well but it isnt really fitting with the others. I agree with you. I like it tho and it has a little bit of similarity but only a bit.

Am I the only on ehere that agrees with Kazimo? It's true that this new Batmovil is way better than the other ones, but it just doesn't fit with the Batman saga..

I kinda like this new batmobile after I saw the movie. When I first saw it I had very low expectations of it, but once I saw the movie they explained everything and suddenly I found it to be very cool. It goes well with the story too considering he is just starting out to be the batman, Morgan Freeman's character didn't really know he was going to be the batman, thus doesn't have anything that matches him at the moment. I'm pretty sure there will be one that fits him better in the next movie.

I like the Bat Tank, but i prefer the Batmobile. The Bat tank In the movie *bleep*ing ruled and kicked ass. It was tight, but if they make another movie they should use the normal car not some big *bleep*ing thing.

The Tumbler is a prototype for the ARMY, It was not buil with Batman in mind. Besides, if you're going to fight crime in a town as bad as Gotham, why would you want a sleek car. This batmobile is so awesome I hope they don't change it for the sequel. This car would kick all the other one's @$$e$!!

I don't acknowledge any "Batmobile" after Batman: The Animated Series. The Batman Forever and Batman and Robin versions are just ridiculous; Batman is supposed to be an urban legend, not the driver of a Las Vegas taxi.

This movie takes place at the beginning of the dark knights career, so maybe in future movies the cars will take on the old familiar look. I personally liked the tank car.

Agreed. Maybe in later films, Batman's batmobile will be different; though I hope not.
