The stats raising items; calcium, zinc, iron, etc, they increase your EV points by 10. That's what they do and you can only use 10 of one kind to one pokemon.

You DEFINITELY want to use these.

They save up more than 5 minutes of your life.

You can use these vitamins until your EV on that stat reaches 100.

So basically, it's best to use Vitamins when you are feeding it at 0 EV, so you can let it feed 10 vitamins.
