I just bought halo combat evolved for the pc. i need to know what i do in order to be able to play other people and i need a person to play.

Select a multiplayer game, set it up how you want the game to be played, and then wait for people to join.

Or you can populate the list of on-line games and enter one that has an open spot.

when i pick the game the game starts it doesn't go to a lobby

i'll say it word for word ok, when i click multipayer it goes to the screen if i pick lan it goes straight to the game after i pick the level and game type. It does the same for internet multiplayer too! what do i do? i don't know how to do the direct thing please tell me word for word.

Ok, you start the game up and select multiplayer.

Then to play an online game, select Internet, then select get list and then pick your game.

Or to create a game, also go to the internet option under "Create Game". The rest is pretty self explainatory.

I went and installed Halo just to answer your question as best I could, so if I haven't answered it, you will need to be more specific.

I dont, but i think that dial-up only limits you to how many players you can have on a game that you host(2 max), and how fast the host of someone else's game kicks you out for having horrible ping.
