Crashes

Don't you find it annoying after a while when you have a smash and it's only with a compact car and so is virtually worthless?

I mean if you're going to have a crash you want it to be spectacluar and expensive so it's anoying when your time is wasted on something only worth $40000 or so.

Even more annoying is when you pile into the back of a pile up created by a competitor and only get teh value of the damage done to your car - argh!!

My top smash so far has been worth $140000, and single race total $1,200,000 ish.

re: Crashes

Well, smashing into anything allbeit large or small allows you to begin to learn exactly how slow you need to go in order to brush up against someone or brush a bumper or something to that extent...as to how hard you make contact with another vehicle is considered a crash....... the more you crash the more you learn how to better handle the car in similar situations...so yes it is a bit annoying but the rewards come later and they are fruitful.

re: Crashes

You know, if I had never picked up the game DRIVER or DRIVER 2 for Playstation, this game would be totally different for me. In terms of crashing, in SURVIVAL mode or any other mode in DRIVER/2, you can use other cars to ricochette off them when making a turn to straighten your car out or steer it in the direction you want to go in. Like when taking a 90 degree turn, in DRIVER, you can take the turn, sideswipe another vechicle in the process, and straighten your car out of a skid all in one motion. If you TAP another car in BURNOUT let alone lightly sideswipe, you've crashed. Its very difficult to change mindsets, I've been having trouble feeling out distance impact with other cars, finding out exactly how slow you need to slow down in order to avoid a crash and just tap another vehicle.

re: Crashes

You need to be going quite slow. Although sometimes, if the angles all right then you get away with it. I suppose they over dramatise at lower speeds, but then who said this was a simulation?

Wow! I did a funny wreck once before. I Scraped across the front of an 18 wheeler, Slammed into a taxi, and bounced back into the taxi beside it. It costed $117,000+ I Think. And one time, I ran straight into an 18 wheeler or a delivery truck, and bounced like Several feet away from the truck. It didn't give me much points.

re: Crashes

Here is a cool crash i had. I don't remember what the total money was but, heres what happened. I think it was on Interstate, right before the tunnel. I was going head on with traffic, hit a tow, slid in between the tow and a bus, fliped, slid across the top of the bus, slid in front of traffic, got whacked a few more times, before finally coming to a halt.
That was cool!

re: Crashes

the best way to get huge crashes is to do the second face off and get the tow truck. then go back to twilight harbour. on the 2nd lap, stop in front of the two trucks side ways and let them crash into you. this will cause you to get about 150,000 or more, plus how ever many other cars racing crash into you aswell. i got about 200,000 doing it once!!

The most damage I've ever caused was $120,000 by hitting a bus in a saloon GT. It's such a good looking car too
