What do you think? |
|
I just got this game like 10 hours ago and I'm not to happy with it. I don't like the fact that in other AC even if you didn't use the human plus or OP your Heat goes up to fast and Energy Still go down way to quick. Ive tryed almost every combo of parts to fix this and it still pisses me off. I'm a pro at this game as some of you know me and this even gives me probs in battle. I do however like the arena set up. Being able to pick from a huge munber of Arena foes it very fun. As Far as AI skill goes they did a good job. Didn't like the fact that the parts they give you as you move up in ranks kinda aren't worth mouch. So give me some feed back tell me what you think of this new Armored Core.

It came out on the fourteenth (yesterday) i would have to disagree. The Combat system this game uses is The one Nexus should have had. Now I can actuallt boost for a reasonable amount of time, and without overheating. Even if i did overheat, My radiator only drained about 1/8 of my energy, which can be compared to 3/4 or all of it in Nexus. I havent gotten too far as i have only played for about an hour, but I gotta give it a thumbs up.

I'm working my way trying to get those gold ranks, some are a pain in the arse, but getting all gold is achievable.
Edit: Warning to those who start a game, be sure to buy all the parts in the shop because once you convert to NB, you can't get them. There is no shop in NB so if you never bought the parts and converted the game like I did, then you cannot buy more parts from the game, which means I'm screwed. Well gee that sucks ass
Thanks for the heads up Chad. EDIT: After purchasing the game, and converting my data...Im not really bothered by anything it has to offer. Aside from the massive arena...but thats a good bother. This message was edited by Grenade King on Sep 18 2005. -------------------

After playing this game for awhile, I've got to be honest in saying it's one of the worst AC games, I've ever played. I thought this was gonna be like master of arena, in that it had a massive arena and specific arenas which were very challenging, but instead it feels like it was put together in a week.
The bad signs were apparent from the beggining with conversion and no shop to buy AC parts. This is the only AC game where there is no shop to buy parts. The training exercises are so annoying and rather pointless, that I wouldn't even bother with it, except for the fact that it's the only way to unlock secret parts by getting the very frustrating gold medals. Instead of improving A.I., they once again just copped out and gave them OP-I, which was fine in master of arena, but this is like their 10th game and there is no excuse for the same A.I. type of battles. Do any of you feel that ninebreaker was a big let down? Luckily there is light at the end of the tunnel, in that Last Raven is looking to be decent. ------------------- ![]() Chad Fact Num #32: I got your mom on a diet, she eats my sausage.

I just started a new game rather than converting. Figured it'd give me the sense of earning more parts that way anyways. :-P

By the time I figured out that I had to start over, in order to get most of the parts I didn't buy. I had like 45 golds already and finished the arena so it was a bit too late for me to start over.

I decided long ago that this game didn't interest me, but when I saw it for a reasonable price today I went ahead and bought it. I don't have my NEXUS data with me at the moment, plus I have other games I'm playing. But when I eventually get to this game I'll give you all my report.
I did try it for a few minutes and I tend to concur with Chad. Production values in this game seem really low... hell, there isn't even a CG intro movie which has been a staple since the very first Armored Core game. While I do like the randomized opponents and some of the new arenas, overall this thing doesn't fare well as its own title. Had this been an arena in an AC game with missions etc it would've been excellent, but it is not strong enough to stand on it's own. Oh well... I knew it'd be crappy and I bought it anyways. Prepare for some ps2 controller throwing good ol' training missions JG. I was surprised they didn't include a revolver with 8 bullets with the manual because at times I felt like shooting myself in the head with the frustration at completing some of these training missions.

Wonderful -_- Because, y'know it makes sense to start putting training missions into the tenth ninth installment for the series. Clearly we vet's don't know what the hell we're doing with our cores *rolls eyes*
Chad, I noticed you do get most of the games parts by default in NB... do you have a shortlist of the Nexus parts that are NOT included? I have yet to convert my data and I'd like to know which ones I should buy before I run my conversion. Point on Interest: The WYRM sniper rifles have had their ammo raped for this installment. Hooray for FROM - take away one of our ONLY good weapons. *bleep*ing idiots over there, I swear. ------------------- ![]()

I believe if you start new you get 75% of the parts from nexus. I don't know what parts are left out and what parts are left in but here is all the parts that you earn in NB if you started from scratch again.

re: What do you think? |
quote Johnny_G I hailed that decision as one of the best they've ever done. The WYRM was one of the most over-powered weapons in the game. It's not a bad decision to change something that's clearly superior to 90% of the choices available. They also at least put a magazine on the MG weapon arms, and they're still ridiculously powerful done correctly. 1/2 ammo on the WYRMS was highly warranted. They still do great amounts of damage, aren't AS blatantly superior to any other sniper rifle. They do a lot of damage quickly, so obviously if you want to use them, just pack some hangar parts or back weapons or something and rape the opponent with the WYRMS, drop them to get the underweighting bonus that your Phaedo design benefitted from, and you're still kicking butt as much as ever. Also, yes, as a game itself, Ninebreaker certainly isn't the best full package. But it's also cheaper than the others. Missions are the nice the first time around, but frankly, after you've beaten the game once or twice, they're all but irrelevant anyways, and thus the arena is what matters in the long run. The random AC generator is a great addition, although it's too bad you can't create random OP-I opponents for a challenge. However, some class A randoms can still be decently challenging at times. More importantly, I like the addition and balancing of parts much better in Ninebreaker than Nexus. I quickly grew bored with Nexus because if you wanted to make a good mid-weight biped, you were basically constrained to only a hand-full of weapon choices unless you wanted to be totally outclassed, WYRM and M2 certainly not least amongst them. ------------------- Hard works pays off further down the road.
