	I cant seem to levitate. She tells me that the combo is up+L.

To be sure you have the power, double-jump and press and hold Left Shift. That should give Raz a brief float. If that works repeat those steps, and add another jump while Raz is floating. That should bring the levitation ball underneat Raz for him to roll on. Once the ball is underneath him you can release Left Shift. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
