Hey folks -

I picked up a PS2 the other week and heard so much about GOW that I had to pick it up. Wow. I'm loving it.

Anyway, I'm still early into the game and need help with the hydra boss. I killed the 2 smaller ones by impaling them, but the big one is giving me fits.

When I hit the "O" button when the hydra collapses, I mash the button as Kratos places his hooks in the mouth of the hydra and pulls back. But the hydra breaks free every time, not causing any damage to the mast. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

You just need to mash the buttons faster. More bosses would be like this, so get used to it.

You're absolutely right about mashing the buttons faster. I used to just hold the controller in both hands and mash the "O" button with my thumb. But when I put the controller on the ground and mashed using my index finger I was able to get by this son of a gun.

i got same problem i got a wireless controller. i seem to be doing it all wrong im taping it when it shows up. not no luck taking the beast down!
