VX2 Country and VX2 Restaurant Released |
|
As noted:
VX2_Country (Final) VX2_Restaurant (Final) >_< didn't even think of putting this in before. To install the maps Unzip the map and nav file into your steam install location as such (varies by user arrangement) /steam/steamapps/(steam name)/Counter-Strike Source/cstrike/maps In the dedicated server it would be placed in /steam/steamapps/(steam name)/Source Dedicated Server/cstrike/maps Hopefully the slightly corrected version of vx2_streets should be done with the navigation mapping soon. (minor glitch on low/zero grav servers that allowed people to snipe from the the skyscrapers which required an overhaul) I looked at the bounce pad situation but it'll most likely require a custom tweaked surface with phys variables attached to make it function. =/ (phys_spring) For starting out I would suggest going step by step with the Valve-Erc guide for a HL2DM room. Same principle just a different game type. =) That should get you familiar with the interface to experiment around afterwards. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This message was edited by VeGiTAX2 on Mar 20 2005.

VX2_Streets Released |
|
After some setbacks the final build of VX2_Streets is complete. =)
VX2_Streets (Final) Completely different lighting arrangement and it includes the nav file this time so people don't spend 20 hours compiling one XD *Note: NAV files do a few items. They trace routes for bots and they they trace routes for hostages. Always best to install them especially with a hostage map. XD otherwise they just stand there doing nothing at all when you attempt to save them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This message was edited by VeGiTAX2 on Mar 20 2005.

re: Custom Map Listing |

Just a hint on the World style maps, it might help out in presentation to drop below the horizon line on approach as the engine tends to have some late draw in with detailed levels (observable in the restaurant level when crossing from the far end to the t spawn with the palms as they tend to appear as the player draws closer) =/
For a forest setup the background trees should help relieve some of that between the cities. =) Good luck with those. ^^ I remember that being a bit of complaint by many mappers when the source SDK was released (not enough room) if you set it up right there should be pleanty of space though. =) ------------------- ![]()

EDIT(fixed the proplem)
ah nice but i got a problem with my map you see im trying to make a car like the one in hl1 from on a rail. but every time i make one the train's controls go away when i play the map(so i can't drive). this is how the controls paths and the cars set up. EDIT: im maping for CSS FUNC_tracktrain name: swat car 1 first stop target : car path 0 FUNC_traincontrols parent: swat car 1 global entity name : train name: swat car 1 PATH_Track name: car path 0 next stop target: car path 1 PATH_Track name: car path 1 next stop target: so any ideas why it goes away? thanks EDIT(fixed the proplem) This message was edited by Zee_pso on Apr 24 2005. ------------------- ![]() ![]()

re: Custom Map Listing |

1. go to play list and click on source sdk (download it its free)
2. once its downloaded open it and click on hammer. and push yes to configure setting auto. 3. then once its done you can 1. learn how to map by yourself (like i did) or do it the easy way by clicking on help in the tools bar then clicking on help topics ------------------- ![]() ![]()
