I have the PC version of SH4, and I'm in the wishhouse. I take the letter/book or whatever it is, which makes that door open and that guy starts screaming from inside. When I'm going to enter that door it says "You used Ghost Key" and then the games freezes completely! It sucks!

Any ideas what to do?

I have exactly the same problem!

Tobias: did you figure out how to solve this issue? It is a very annoying situation since I am very intrigued by the game's plot and now I am stuck.

CRAP!! I am just getting to the wishhouse point , if I have the same problem I'll post back.

Do you guys have a fix yet or is it graphics related do we know?

I want to know exactly where you all are getting stuck , I will try to save right before and find a solution if it happens to me also.

I found this walkthrough and in the first Forest world section it says somthing about once you get the first key you CANNOT go back to the wishhouse with it in your inventory , this is probably not the problem but please ck it out JIC:

7. Forest
Go through the door, you will see another hole not far away from you
Go through the double door, prepare to fight with something
Only one way to go from there, to another double door, go pass it, another fight
Go outside and you will see a car, check the car from the opened door, read and take the note
Go through the door, you will meet someone besides the rock, listen to him if you are interested
Go through the door, prepare for fight, another door again with yet another fight
Enter the Wish house area
Check all the notes/messages there
Go to the door at the lower left corner of the area in the map
Go through the other door in the area, prepare to face something that cannot be killed
Go through the double door in the area, an event happens
Check the stuffs around the area, return to wish house area
Go to that guy in front of the door, listen to what he says if you are interested
Give something he wants (from your fridge), he will give you back something, take that
Go through the door at the lower right corner of the area in the map
Fight or evade and go through the other door and then go through yet another door
There is something really interesting with the trees, use the tool the guy gave you there, you will get a key
You can't go back to the Wish house by the forest with that in your inventory
Go through the door near by prepare to see something that can't be killed again
Go back to your room through the hole

8. Normal Room
Go to the living room, open the chest and put that special key into the chest
Somone ring your bell, check the peephole
Go through the hole in the bathroom

9. Forest
Now you can go back to the wish house
Go back to your room by going through the hole in the wish house area and get the special key from the chest and return
Use the special key to open the door of Wish House, enter it
Check the notes near the cupboard in front of you
Check the note at the left corner, you will hear something
Take the Placard on the door which you can see smoke come out
Go through that door and an event happens



Let me know exactly where it happens and we'll see if this can be worked out.

Well... just right there! In my case, my game freezes and I have to CTRL-ATL-DEL. I hope it won't happen to you.

Nope , I just played right through that part and the Water Prison and am allready at the Buildings part.

That really sucks that you guys are getting stuck there.

After you take the plack and open the door you will see an event (I'm not going to ruin it for you but it's a loud and bright cutscene) , it could be your video/sound drivers or your video settings thats causing the problem because of all the action during the cutscene , try turning your sound accel down a couple of knotches (this is allways recomended I don't know why but sometimes it helps) and try posting your problem here: Konami Forums

I looked through the Konami Forums and some had similar problems but not exactly , maybe someone there can help give you some more helpful ideas.

BTW I have the DVD version of the game , do you guys have the CD version , there may be a problem with the install?

I have the CD version and I have tried unsucesfully to repair the game from the CD a couple of times. Nothing!

anyhow, I will uninstall the whole thing and start from the scratch.

I know how it can be to have such needless problems running a game.

BTW , I just finished the apartment world level....this game is wierd , I'm probably gonna have nightmares tonight!

Hi Everyone,

I have the DVD-ROM Version of this game and just played through that point. I saved right before trying to go through it. I've heard people mention the CD-ROM version of the game. I didn't know there was a CD-ROM version of this game. How many disks does it take to load it. Silent Hill 3 had 5 CD's, The DVD-ROM is only 1. Has this happened with people with the DVD-ROM version? Maybe it's a glitch with the Multi-Disk installer. I'm sorry everyone is having so many problems with this glitch.

I am having a bug in the same world but a little earler on. After I dig up the rusty key I get into the next section on the way to the house but I get stuck in that section. I open to door but go back to the start of that section.

Have any of you had the same problem and know a solution?

P.S. I am running the DVD-Rom version

I've played trough the waterprison and now I've started the next level´. I've talked to the neighbor that appears in the cut scene talking about a journalist living at 302 before Henry. After that I go into the room where there's a sword stuck in a mans stomach. I go out and try to get up the stairs from where I came from just before the cut scene. There comes an enemy towards me I kill it and try walk up the stirs. Then just after change of camera view at the upper floor I'm stuck, there's some kind of bug or glitch can't go any further I'm stuck. Try to get around but no changes, can't continue the game. I've tried about 4-5 times now but no differences. Does anyone else got this problem, or does anyone got a clue how to get rid of this problem?

It's been awhile since I played this game. I'm surprised with technology today there are still problems. I never finished this game. It just never felt like a Silent Hill game to me. I've gotten thru to the Apartment Level without the game freezing up though. I hope I don't jinx myself by saying that.I have the DVD version of the game. Nowadays I wonder if it was something to do with Vista? I'm still running xp Pro myself. Have you re-installed the game, fixing never seems to work for me with programs? I used to think it might have something to do with RAM or VRAM (I have 1.5 gig of RAM and 512K of VRAM) but the computers today make mine seem like a dinosaur. Sorry I can't offer more help.
