Hey yol, e'm new to rpg maker, i picked up rpg maker xp about a week ago and since then, i can't get away, i plan to make an awsome game and so far i've learnt heaps from just experimenting around, i'm aware that many peoples projects become abandond and i can only ope that i will be different, i've already made 11 maps (some not completly finished) one is even a world map. I hope to become a regular here like i used to be at other forums. So see youse round.

Myname is Jak Odin Gem and I'm an Aussie. I'm 18, turning 19 in 19 days.
I'm a lyricist and a writer (also a coles grocery assistant but yeah) and I'm working hard on several games.
Though it may seem odd that I am working on multiple games, I work on different games depending on what mood I'm in and what the mood and ambition for the decided game is.
I've been here before and I'm back again.
Hope people don't groan at my re-appearance to loudly.

Welcome to the foru..... huh- whats that you say? You left ages ago but returning? What is the world coming to.... usually people leave and don't come back, but seriously, welcome back, Ulti.

Ulti's left like... Fifty times... Just like ShadowlordRPG and Bunnyburn. They all eventually come back; they're drawn to neo like a mosquito (wow, I spelled that right! I never do that ) to a bug light!

Four times actually but hey. Either way sometimes I will jump on the net be searching something random then all of a sudden a link to Neo comes up and I'm dawn back in again.

So Jayden is a mod... wow have to say never expeted to see it happen after remembering the early days, but then again I can remember my early days.

Hey, I never introduced myself.

Well you all know me well, and for new ones, I'm screaminggingin, I write long posts which devro hates, and the posts are usually me going angry!

But most of the time, I;m nice, layed back etc.

For my sports, I'm a long distance runner, and my times are showing up fantastically.

Interests,
Completly random things.
Drama, [always fun, especially year7 drama, that was awesome]
And most of you people who are regulars, will know me from JTLS1, hence, the worst game ever. Thanks to some random script I added, [it's easier to blame something or someone else]

War's Remorse, Maze are still in development and after my increase in abilities I've gone back to Nature's Chronicles.

Other than that I started writing a story for a new game called Strife: Nght Quarter which isn't planned to be commercia or anything so I can be a little more lax about it. (and hopefully actually finish it.)

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post in but I couldn't find a general thread. All I really want to know is if rpg maker can only make RPG turn based games or can it be used for more. I would like to make a "Build your base type game." Were you build a base then defend it from attack using one or more soldiers, heroes, etc. Can I use RPG Maker XP for that or not? If not what could I use Thank you in advance for any input and screw you in advance to any trolls

But you would be better of using a more platform friendly
engine, like gamemaker.

I have played around with Gamemaker before and was able to do a side scroller and a top down adventure but I didn't know it could go beyond that. So i could make an interface with gamemaker much like the interfaces on say red alert or warcraft? Is there a game making software that is for RTS or do you think Gamemaker actually has the capability of making an RTS with a full fledged interface like i previously mentioned
