Lol. I kind of regret posting mine, now... but there's no need to delete it yet, either. Muu and I are talking about a custom battle system, but the game in general is on hold until his schedule clears up and he gets the opportunity to script one.
Last two times I tried working on my game before I had a working battle system, it would always create confict with other scripts or - in one case - corrupted the game's data entirely. This time I'm waiting until I've settled on a system and working from there. -------------------

quote Xelrog T ApocalypseHaha I know what you mean. Before I got back into RMXP, I'd work on like ten maps and then quit. They were good ideas, too, but for some reason I just didn't have the inspiration to go on. ------------------- ![]()

I think I just keep losing hope because I have absolutely no scripting knowledge. And scripting conflicts are a bitch. -_-

I'm probably in the same boat as you. I have none of the fancy skills that make a person in this forum useful. I can't sprite, make music, script, or really, anything but use the program. I've still managed to work my way past scripting problems, sometimes with help, others without any.
Though I'm not sure i've ever used the types of scripts you have implemented. And RMXP script conflicts are certainly a lot more annoying than RMVX conflicts, that's for sure. ------------------- ![]()

That much, I'm VERY grateful for. From what I've heard, RMVX is the Windows Vista of game making. -_- At the risk of breaking up a good, but admittedly out of place conversation, I brought up something similar in the GD thread.

Which is why I attempted to move it there. Nobody seemed to take interest in my Fighter Maker question, though.

This would be fine in a new topic, as it can be a pretty diverse subject.
It can depend on your skill sets. Since RMXP uses a separate data file for each aspect of the creator, you can have one person working on database subjects, while another fleshes out the next scene. Communication is important. for you both to be working on database, trade files, only to find out that you're half of an entire day's work just got overwrote is a painful experience. A messenger like YIM, or MSN would be beneficial, so you and you're partner can discuss things as they come up, day or night. If you have two entirely different skill sets (He can script, and you can sprite) it's pretty simple to balance that. However, having two people working in the editor at the same time could get tedious. I'd suggest working in segments that you can keep track of. You do scene A and town B, while he prepares area C that leads to dungeon D. You just have to balance you're work loads to be efficient and productive really. ------------------- ![]()

well... we can communicate with skype.. its good as we can talk..and not type.. so we can type in the RPG Maker.
But as skills... well.. we basically suck both... but learning fast... although he has some programming history and i seem to get along with mapping a little better. Maybe we will try a - I map a place... he scripts the events.. approach (although a functional script provides extreme satisfaction:P.. but i guess you can`t have`m all)

quote propperEveryone has to start from somewhere, play around with the events and download open games like 'KNight Blade' to see how the events were done. When it comes to mapping id suggest trying to imitate other people's at first to get a feel for what each tile does and where they are supposed to go.

Project Name: Runescape RPG
Author: (Myself) NeoPower Link: None yet. Official Website: www. winguh. webs .com WITHOUT THE SPACES. (Working on getting an official site, not some BS webs one.) Short Brief: It's a remake of the popular MMORPG Runescape, but made in a single-player mode. Download Link: Demo version on the website. Version: Progress bar on the website. Sorry for bypassing the website name, Neoseeker has all of these so-called illegal links, which doesn't make sense to me because it's impossible to advertise something like my game. -------------------
