I'm sure many of you have accomplished the Dark Brotherhood questline at some point. When you go into Lucien's hideout at Fort Farragut. (secret entrance or otherwise) You'll see that in a barrel next to his alchemy equipment that it's locked, who the crap locks barrels? At any case, if you unlock it you'll find that he's storing 10 poisoned apples in it, an extremely useful assassination tool. These also have a gold value of 500 gold. Not the best part, you can actually come back to the fort ever few days and since it's a dungeon, the loot resets! Meaning that you can get 10 poisoned apples each time you visit.

Now to the meat of the post, if you have to do any quests involving guards or someone you just can't get close enough to assassinate, simply steal all the food in their home/building area and replace it with one to two poisoned apples (Add more if necessary). This came to mind to post about after I discovered this today, when you have to do the thieves guild quest and jack the tax papers from Hieronymus Lex without being caught. All I did was wait till the guards weren't anywhere on the base level, and replaced the food in the barrels with the poisoned apples. When I waited a few hours, five guards lay dead in the room. This makes quests like this much easier...and entertaining to watch.

Those poisoned apples don't weigh anything so you can pickpocket someone and place the apples in their inventory. This way you wont have to remove all their food.

hehe, I'd still rather just plant them in the barrels. Way less of a chance to get caught. And it's funny watching them do it themselves.
