Question re weapon USAGES vs Charges & What do the magic tabs mean

In ES IV (original) I have a sword. when I look at info about the sword it will some something like:

13900/12798 14 Charges left.
What do the first set of numbers mean?
The HP Total and the HP Current?
And how are the magic tabs classified? Ie, when you look at your spells and tab over...
I would think school of majic would have been the way but the schools are all mixed up. Self, touch, projectile? I give up. Help.

ONE MORE: Is there anyway to get:
- The time to always display?
- The Round Thing showing preset spells/potions/scrolls to always stay up?

Thanks

re: Question re weapon USAGES vs Charges & What do the magic tabs mean

in order:

The first number is amount of charge left and the second is total possible charge. (the # you show are impossible)

The tabs are confusing yes , I stick mostly with the first one which just shows all your spells. But self means spells that you cast on yourself. Touch means spells you cast on something/someone else that is close to you, close enough to touch. Target/projectile means spells that you can cast on something far away. You use the cursor as an aiming point. You can cast a fireball/flare at somethng as far away as you can see it. Great fun.

Dunno if you can keep the time always displayed. That would be an interesting feature which might be possible. You can check the time by pressing the wait key and then canceling so you don't wait.

I don't think you can keep the round thing in view all the time; you can bring it up any time by holding down one of the hotkeys.

If you enter menu/journal mode, time stops so you have the time to select a weapon/spell and check stuff. The only time you can't change weapons/spells in menu mode is if you're still casting a spell or actually attacking with your weapon.

Have fun. It's kinda confusing at first but it will become
easier the more you play and there's lots of folks here that will be happy to help.
