I reinstalled the game (I removed the hole folder and all files connected to oblivion) and when I try to start a new game, it askes me if I want to start a new game, so I click yes, then the game complety freezes (and ctrl + alt + delete, doesn't work shutting it down!)

can anybody help me?
btw this is the same PC as I played 200+ hours of oblivion before smoothely

ok i know this is werid but patchs carry bugs sometimes so if you got a patch then you would have to reinstall sothing simeler happend to me

Ow right, patches! totally forgot about those!
I didn't get a patch at all, only Fighters Stronghold plugin, could be conflicting, also I managed to start a new game, but it froze right when that guard died! (during turtorial)

Anyways, I installed the patch, and it froze right away again!
I really dont get it, I used to play this smoothly on the same PC :S

yeah my friends got it recently on Vista it keeps locking up

Try reinstalling oblivion again. Mine did this the first time I installed it. One of the startup files or whatever might have gotten corrupted somehow. I dont think you said if your using any mods but that might cause a problem too if you are. If you do reinstall Oblivion and you use mods back them up. I uninstalled and then reinstalled oblivion and for some odd reason 4 GB of mods went bye-bye.

Well I think it corrupts when I mess with the songs, I mean I want other music than I already have, anyone know a solution to that?
