Speechcraft

OK. I'm really starting to regret taking speechcraft as a major skill. I'm on level 12 and my speechcraft is still on level 25. HOW DO YOU PERSUADE PEOPLE!?! every time I try, I have no idea whats going on. Thanks

One thing they like, one thing they kinda like, one thing they kinda don't like, and one thing they hate. So just go over with the mouse and see what their reactions are. Then you want to get the ones that they like when the section of the circle is the biggest and brightest and the things they don't like when it's the smallest. The cirlce is predetermined with the size of each section and will rotate around clockwise every time you choose an option. So, you need to plan it out, i.e. If they like jokes and admire, get those when it's with the big section

Ok.. maybe someone has said this before but I'll give a quick go.
First of all, Speechcraft is one of the best primary skills to have in your arsenal because of its ease to master once you understand the simple rules. This is one of those abilities that are only useful to a certain extent, but are useable almost anywhere you go.
First, click on the Face Icon.. it will bring up your CHAT GUI so to speak. With that up don't ever click Bribe, it's most of the time a waste of money.. just click start.
You'll see 4 categories which in my opinion are irrelevant cuz they change for every person. Highlight all 4 categories and watch the users face expression change.. there is an advantage to learning this quickly because disposition drops as time goes on.
Now.. there's 4 levels of emotion. There's no set definition so I'll just say there's 2 happy (big smile, little smile), and 2 unhappy (little frown, big frown). This is sort of a minigame you learn to master after a few attempts.. basically everytime you click one quarter, the circle will rotate.. you get points towards disposition if you click a happy, and deductions if unhappy. Because the pie is randomly setup per round, you have to play smart.
Try to click the large pie piece on your 2 happy zones, and small ones on the unhappy ones. The pie slice size is a point factor, and the level of happy/unhappy (high or low) is the multiplier.
You eventually have to click all the slots, so try to minimize the bad, maximize the good and end up positive. That's the basic idea.. you'll learn how to look for patterns when you get better.
If you plan to bribe.. do it when your disposition is maxed out by speechcraft methods. There are few people you'd like to max out though, maybe fences so you can get a better rate on stolen goods for example.
Try talking to everyone you come across and maxing this abilitiy.. costs you nothing but 3 minutes per character at most and it only gets easier at higher levels.
