RAM and Oblivion

I originally have 1 gig ddr 400 memory. I have a 7800 gt oc and amd 3700+ proccessor. If i get 1 more gig of DDr 400 will my gameply FPS increase more or just a little not worth 100 bucks?

re: RAM and Oblivion

it will increase, but not by much. you will find a little increase if you tighten up the timings a bit too.

the amount of ram really helps on the smoothness of the game, there is more ram to go around so the "dumping"(little tiny pauses) happens less.

No the detail levels are still dependent on the GPU. RAM just means you have more information for the processor to pull. Think of it as write ahead. You notice the loading screens when running? Those should become fewer and furthur apart with more RAM.
