Babysitting *maybe spoiler*

There are a few quests where you have to go out and do something dangerous and in the process you have to prevent someone from dying.

In all cases so far, the person(s) has died. Im trying to kill whatever, and these people jump in front of my blade like they dont even see it(i take a major chunk of health off of them)...then have the audacity to accuse me of attacking them. Then, during the accusation, the monster kills them in the back.

This specific scenario has happened twice so far.

Now i have to babysit Martin while 3 oblivion gates open up, while the allies from all other cities are there along with Jauffre.

What is the best way to protect him without him/or others jumping in front of me mid-swing?

I don't think you need to worry about him. Since he's a main character, he can't die. He'll just get knocked out for a few seconds, then he'll gleefully jump up and get smacked again.
I think that's what happened when I did it.

You mean the reinforcements you gathered from the Allies for Bruma quest? Forget them, they're noobs.

Yeah them...sweet.

Im just gonna keep swinging then, and if they decide to jump in front of my blade, good for them.

I believe Martin CAN DIE! But only at one place in the game I believe, and that's at the battle outside of Bruma (had a message, "A character required to successfully complete this quest has died"). But only in that battle, and I think if you have enough aid, it won't really be a problem =P.

Anyways can't check if it was Martin, went to a previous save lol XD.

i just finished it, he had a crown emblem...and might i say i was rather disappointed at the enthusiasm of the reinforcements...they all stood there as 2 at a time came out to the field to help, i had to do everything!

Nope martin can't die at that point in the game the only time can die is later on when trying to get him to light the dragonfires later on in the game..

To identify if a NPC can die, or is just knocked out, you move cursor over the person. If cursor turns to a crown, he can't die. If it turns to a hard-to-describe decorated circle, he can die.

BE WARNED

Jauffre CAN die in this battle. He died for me. Martin, however, can't. But everyone there but Martin can die. I also had Baurus at the battle too, and he died aswell. So I was left all alone except for having Martin with me.

re: Babysitting *maybe spoiler*

i had 14 people including me there, and the rest stood around with their thumbs up their asses. Burd and Jauffre, along with a few other soldiers, died. Martin still seemed happy though.

btw, Martin fights like a girl....

re: Babysitting *maybe spoiler*

Fail sure I had that quest fail and it said a Required NPC had died, Jaureffe and Baurus can die =P. So yeah everyone can die XD, I think one of the guards is female if you look over em all as well XD.

However I think once the quest changes to Grand Sigil Stone, Martin can not die =P. I am sure I saw him die however in the battle at 2 gates =P.
