Crashes when equipping bows
|
Hi can anyone help? The game plays fine and I am on my 3rd charachter trying to get the best for my style, however although I can use normal bows (iron, steel, silver etc) and ones that I have modded with sigil stones, I cannot buy/loot other bows such as pre-enchanted, daedric etc without the whole system crashing as soon as I equip it!! Its a full shut down followed by message saying major system failure do i want to tell microsoft.

I have shut down all peripheral programs etc so nothing else is running and tried equiping all kinds of different weapons and armour. It only crashes when equiping certain bows. All the normal steel, iron, silver bows are ok as well as those that I've modded. You can equip other bows but as soon as you go back out of the inventory screen to the normal 1st person view, it crashes the whole computer. Its almost as if the graphics cannot handle the picture of the new bow. I had a similar problem with silent hunter 3 which prompted me to buy a new graphics card (Radeon x550) which should handle most graphics perfectly. I'll try to add a relevent info from the dxdiag below, sorry if it makes a long post, Thanks for helping

Seems to me the patch mentioned something about crashing with bows on some systems. Have you patched the game? Maybe try turning your resolution down a notch and turning off some 'features' like AA and HDR.
