i need to find 5 empty grand soul gems. Where should i go?

You could always just pull some from the items list...
Put this into your console:
player.additem 00015B8E 5
5 empty grand soul gems

im new at this so how do i do that.

Hit the tilde key (~) next to the number 1 and the Console will pop up, and then you just type that in.

i have a xbox 360.

Well in that case, scratch what he said completely, because there are no cheats for the 360 version.

As for your dilemma, I know you can buy a few in the Imperial City. And in the Arcane University there's a display case with a few gems in it. It has a Very Hard lock though, so good luck.

well this is the pc forum, although i've posted in the 360 forum 4 times before someone told me i was in the wrong place lol.
Try all the mages guild halls, the arcane university, and maybe enev the shops in the impereal city.

You can buy those from mage guilds occasionally. Thats how I got most of mine - the ones that are rewards in caves/dungeons usually aren't empty.

Besides the vampirism cure --- My question is how do you fill empty gems?? I haven't figured how or when to cast the spell on a "soul."

You need a Soul Trap spell. When you cast it on something, it will have a glow around it (best way I can describe it). If you kill it while this glow is visible, you will capture its soul in a soul gem. Generally, the bigger the creature, the bigger the soul.

Im sure its a grand level soul but many creatures are going to be compeltely immune to the soul trap spell. He might even be considered an NPC and so would only fit in a black soul gem. Would be great to make use of that huge black soul gem from the mages guild quest line on him tho..

I think their is three soul gems in her basement but i dont know if all three are grand soul gems i know one of them is. Her basement is located in her fireplace that isnt alight, their should be a trap door.
