Weapon / Armor Mods Never Work |
|
Each time i download a weapon / armor mod everything goes right ( i extract the mod files correctly and i activate the mod ) and when i try it out on my Oblivion and wear the armor or wield my weapon i become invisible for myself or i transform into a BIG YELLOW SQUARE EXCLEMATIONMARK ( same applies for the weapon )
and again ... Yes i did extract the files correctly

No you are not. Reason I say that is because yellow exclamation marks only appear when the mesh file is missing (.NIF) that means you haven't extracted the .NIF files or you misplaced them.
Make sure .NIF files are going into Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data Files/Meshes ------------------- ![]() ![]()

allright .... about meshes and textures .. let me start from the whole beginning with them cause maby im doing something wrong there.:
1)after i install oblivion for mod downloading i go and press on Oblivion on my desktop with right mouse button and go to properties and press Find Target ------> C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. 2)i press on Data and if its a mod that req. textures and meshes, in data i create 2 new folders named Textures and Meshes. 3)Now i download the mod and save it in Data and after its downloaded i extract it with winzip or 7zip or WinRar. 4)Then when i press on the mod folder theres the .esp file and also the textures and meshes folders.so i copy and paste the .esp file into C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data and everything thats in textures in the mod folder i copy and paste it in textures folder and the same applies for meshes. 5) i activate the mod before i play oblivion and when i test in ... well i gues you know what happens next Maby this could help .... the mod im tryin to let work a.t.m is BlackLuster.

Try just copying the folder from the rar file into the data file instead of creating one yourself, I don't know but it might help.

re: Weapon / Armor Mods Never Work |
quote MEHLO MUST DIEAlthough you have found the problem and have everything working. I find it better to open the downloaded file with WinRar (or whichever you use) then open the data files folder and literally drag the contents of the download into the data files folder. A menu will pop up saying do you want to overwrite? Say yes to all and job is done However if the mod replaces original textures (such as a recolour to say glass armour) then you will have to place the replacing files into the Archiveinvalidation.txt file. Or use OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) ------------------- ![]() ![]()
