I don't know, if you put all your majors as ones you use, your skill ups per level are spread too thin, especially if you made a class of only the best skills, like:
Destruction
Restoration
Blade
Heavy Armor
Sneak
Block
Marksman (if you use it)/ Acrobatics

Then you level up with no skill excelling enough to meet the challenge. Your skills, since they are all used, are all roughly equal, and low.

Well, I don't know if I messed this up or not, but here is how I made my new character last night...

Redguard

Strength, Endurance

Blade, Block, Alchemy, Illusion, Conjuration, Marksman, Heavy Armor


If that makes me a bad player oh well, I am just playing for fun in the end!

Why would it maybe have been good to choose alteration instead?

Personally I find conjuration far more useful, I rarely use alteration magic, alchemy will cover that prett well.

Apart from that you will become master in your chosen way of play ... and then some, ending up as a multi-character able to win at everything.

With alteration you can get everywhere
it contains water walking, water breathing, unlocking and feathering

four things that you can cover up with alchemy but you need millions of potions and the right ingredients to make them...

I rather use alchemy for poisons to kill enemies faster


anyways alteration will get you to places and keeps you moving
its ideal for a warrior that wants to lasts and explore, so he doesn't go to cities that much etc!

How can I get a nice feather potion? I don't remember my alchemy skill, but I really need a feather potion.

just combine any two items that have feather as a thing.

Flax seeds - around Skingrad
Sweetcake - alchemy shop
Venison - evreywhere

Or alchemy shops ... all Level 2 effect above.

Level 3 has Sacred lotus seed

Level 4 has Somalus Frond and Lady Mantle Leaves.

I may have missed one or two.

I just need to press one button after I got the right spell!
besides its nice because alteration is governed by Willpower I believe anyways alchemy isn't and I want to increase Willpower!

so in the end, you might make 1 potion while I have casted 4 spells (which have all I need!) so that makes my alteration grow faster while you still have made 1 potion (as in per time you use it )

Never needed alteration to open anything, that's covered by other things such as lockpicking.

We always carry a batch of potions that are likely to be needed anyway .. simple, and they are stronger.

We do magic as well of course ... such as conjugation in preference to alteration. conjugation is a better choice between the two, since alchemy covers alteration pretty well.

And mysticism of course ......... and others.

The point is that conjugation was a better choice for Bill Gates03, instead of alteration.

He made the right choice since he said he was interested in alchemy ... as I am.

Alteration is probably the least useful of the magics.

I can safely say I have never used Alteration within the game at any point during my 4 characters

Alchemy and Security is all I have used

2. the changing formation of a verb according to person, number, tense, etc..

The meaning of conjuration:
Conjuration is the magic of summoning creatures from other planes, creating magical weapons and armor, and repelling undead creatures.

But yes, I do prefer conjugation to alteration any day...
