help with the CS

I really wanted to start making some mods of my own after downloading lots of others. so i found a guide that takes me through the basics and to start off with it just has putting random chests in a building or something. it says in the guide that to start off you have to go to the file menu and then to click on data. next it says to double click on the oblivion.esm file and click done. but there isnt a done button, only a OK button. i assume this is what it is talking about but when i click on it the oblivion.esm file loads up. on the guide it says that when you click on the done button you will get a message saying something about not loading an active file. i do not get this message and this is why i think my simple practice mods are not working. can anybody help me at all.

re: help with the CS

Loading Oblivion.esm doesnt give you that message anyway. Yes its an OK button. When testing your mod remember to check the box next to your mod on the 'data' menu when loading the game.

re: help with the CS

I used this guide to create my house mod. It has very good explanations of basic stuff and will walk you through several different types of mods.

I believe that you access this site when you use the help menu in the construction set.

re: help with the CS

The not loading up an active mod part is when you are loading up the Oblivion.esm with an .esp file as well

If you are just loading up the oblivion.esm then you won't get the message (which isn't bad nor is the message neccessary, it is just incase if you are editing an existing .esp)
