Hi Carol, I didn't find a e-mail to ask you personally. I guess, as it is already a while ago you had the problem with your memory there is a good changse that you solved it yet. I have the same problem and I am seeking for quiet a time to find a solution. (Well I have the same board, and tow 64 MB pc100 and one 128 MB pc133. The board gives me just 64 each...) I read the manual, tried to change things in the bios, I changed the memory jumper...).

I could be mistaken but I don't know if mixing PC100 and PC133 is a good idea because I have a motherboard that can handle PC100 and PC133 Sdram, its one or the other but never mix the two because of the difference in Mhz and the owners manual clearly says that to, so maybe that is an issue here but I could be wrong.

To my knowledge, The mother board would clock down or up any memory you put in the board. IE, If you had a 100 mhz bus board, and you had PC133 memory it would be clocked back down to 100 mhz. Or of you had PC 66 memory then it would be clock up to 100 mhz. In this case, the memory would be at risk of getting fried because it is only certified to run at 66 mhz. But I have gotten away with it.

I realize these are old posts but as versatile and reliable as this board is I feel many are still using it at least as a backup computer like me. I wanted to upgrade my memory too and had 1 stick of pc133 and a stick of pc133 128mb and board only ever recognized the 256mb as 128mb. However the pc133 128mb stick counts up fine. Hmmmm! I have never found a solution to this so eventually got a hold of some pc100 sdram and installed that instead. The board was not intended to use pc133 anyway so I guess when in doubt do what the manual tells you.

Had someone upgrade my system in Jan 2001. That's when I got this board. He put an NEC 64MB SDR133-6L 8x8 memory card in it. A year and a half ago, I replaced my 4GB HD with a 40GB HD and all was fine until several months ago, when I started having memory problems. I think it coincided with upgrading my browser software. I found this forum while verifying what kind of memory cards are compatible with this board. May I assume any sdram 100 or 133 will do? Doesn't have to be a certain make (mine is NEC)? Must be 8x8? That's the size, right?

Found it! YES, 8x8 is the SIZE of the memory card. Did a search on google for sdram 133 8x8 and this link came up:

Checking further on the above link, if you go to the FAQ and scroll down, you can enter your motherboard maker and model number (mine is DFI K6BV3+/66) and it will TELL you which RAM cards will fit your system! If you pick more than one, you have to search again, though. And the FAQ answers the other memory questions on this thread, too.

I have this same MB and have 128 meg in slot 1 and 2. Slot 3 seems to have some sort of data problem. Sandra shows it all garbled in the MB info part. Not only that I have to reboot to get it to go into CAS 2. Anyone have any idea what is up with all this?
