I was just wondering if you get to name your character in this game or if that would conflict with the voice acting from NPC's or something. Anyone know?

Yeah, they thought that since you can't choose your own name from birth you are stuck with one name that they give you. But you can get nicknames depending on what you do. Or you can just buy a new nickname, even ones like Lord Arseface and stuff. So I guess that would be almost just as good as being able to name yourself. And you can change the nickname if you get sick of having a serious, or funny one, or just want a change. So your not stuck with your choices like in other games.

Does anyone know what the name you are stuck with is?

Sorry for all the Q's, I'm just really trying to convince myself to get an Xbox and this game.....

You know, I don't think they have ever released that info. But if you don't like it, you can just change it like I said, but I'm pretty sure it's a name that you would'nt find in the real world like John or something. But I can't wait to be the Frying Pan Killer. Or the Chicken Kicker.

Just to say something: I belive that u can get diffrent names, so u and ur friends char doesen't have the same name, they have realeased some info, they say ur parants
chooses ur name, and it will be a random name, and an uniqe one...well of course someone else in the fable world will have the same name, but as i sayd, i dont think u will have the same name as someone elses character...as i aint sure of this info it can be im wrong, but this is how i understood it

You will not be able to name your character. Throught the game he will recieve titles. Such as Knight, Swordsman, etc. You cant choose they're just given to you.

and they did say you can chose a nickname or make your own at i think one of the guild halls when you become more famouse i think but you may be able to right from the start and you are i am so calling my self King Arthas Go figure

No, you dont pick a nickname. They give you a name which represents you and thats what they call you by.

but i am pretty sure i read in a faq at fable.com that you can create a nickname for yourself if its not there thenits at one of the game development sites faqs about the game on naming

Okay you can't create one but you pick it out at a nickname vendor

I also could have sworn on that 12 page IGN thing that the guy said he just bought the cheapest nickname. And his new nickname was then Lord Arseface. I swear it's there.
