re: Morrowind or Fable. |

well thats exactly how i view morrowind, the be all-end all of rpg's. and could we help but compare the two? the way fable was described years ago, it seemed like it would be just like morrowind. thats what i was hoping for. i still like fable, just not as much as i liked morrowind.

I agree that morrowind has more to do but the environment isnt as fun to mess with. ie. its always dark and raining in balmora and well i hate the people that walk around and be mean to u. I would have to choose fable cuz its alot more fun than morrowind ------------------- ACWW ID:4381-4972-0267 Player Name: Rex Town Name: Scrapton Fruit: Peaches

Apples and oranges....comparing Fable to Baldur's Gate is a lot more fair...and Im really not sure which one would win. I think BG was at least as entertaining for at least as long...probably longer. Fable was a very enjoyable experience, but I dont think Ill ever play through it again..where as Morrowind is still calling. Ive done the fighter, mage, and archer(which ended up being a better swordsman than archer but o well), and I still really want to play a thief, and see how much of the Necromancer sidequest stuff I can do. Fable was a good game, but the trademark of a great game (in my opinion) is replay value...and if/when there is a Fable 2 (the non-linear, open ended, endless replay valued game that I was expecting rather than the BG #14 hack and slash that I got) hopefully it will join Morrowind on my "still jonesing to play a year later" list. This one didnt quite make it.

The ideal game. |

Well I like them both equally. I love the world of Morrowind. Its really big and has endless places to explore. What I love the most is that you can go ANYWHERE! land, sea, or sky. There is a huge amount of different weapons, items, clothing, armor, and fun quests. You can play forever it seems. YOU CAN PICK ALMOST EVERYTHING UP. Its just so fun. The number one thing about Morrowind is its total freedom and reality. The thing I like about fable is how nice the environments look and the way your character changes and looks. In morrowind the characters arent that pretty and you arent allowed the kind of customization that Fable offers. Tattoos, haircuts, scars, aging, hair color, eyes, halos and horns are all the things you can play around with in Fable allowing for a unique character every time. Also the music is very good opposed to morrowinds music which really got on my nerves. Both of these games have their ups and downs.. but what would be really awesome is if you took the natural character cuztomization from fable and threw it in morrowind along with the pretty environments and music, then that would be a killer game. Its like having your cool customized character running around a beautiful world with total freedom and unlimited opportunities, all the while beautiful music plays in the background. That my friends, would be the ideal game. ------------------- ~*October 12//Tribes Vengeance*~ [SMS]griffin Active member of Steel Maelstrom PLT A/2: Starsiege Tribes

I prefer Fable. Fable just seems like a more solid game. the graphics are beautiful and the fighting kicks ass. the character costumization kicks ass and it is just more fun all around. Morrowind is too big, the fighting sucks, and the world seems kinda dead. people just stay in one place the whole time.

Fable is more my taste... but kotor is best all around. i can't see how someone in an earlier post said it doesnt have that much replay value... come on, it has the most of all of them. u can be good or bad and the storyline totally changes whether ur good or evil.

i could never get into morrowind, just steal expensive stuff from mage guild and sell to creeper, then buy your skills up. Rinse - repeat . Maybe its simply because i played morrowind that way , rather than going through whole game ^^

Fable isn't the greatest rpg of all time, but it is a hell of alot better than Morrowind. Morrowind was too slowly paced, it had not voiceovers and you had to read every little thing, and the combat was absolutley horrible. Fable's combat isn't excellent, but it is very good, the graphics are awesome, it is face paced, it is very fun to play. I like Fable much better than Morrowind. ------------------- "The original Don Da Da"

Morrowind has Fable beat in game length, and the free-roaming, larger, more complex 3d environment(though it still has no climbing to it). That's all...

I like them both... Each have their advantages and disadvantages. I do like fable more though I like the combat system a lot better than in morrowind where you have to build your skills which determines how often you hit your target which is just retarted with the bow you can have your crosshairs right on and miss 3 or 4 times before you hit it.

one other thing if a banndit or an outlaw in morrowind wants a toll for passing in morrowind you either need to pay up or kill him... morrowind you free to pass until you talk to him, and that happens on a couple of occasions.
