re: Morrowind or Fable.

I agree, I am not a slow reader, but I hate reading. If I want to read I will pick up a book not play a video game. That was one of the biggest killers for me in Morrowind. In morrowind you keep a log book, well after a couple a hours of playing and talking to people your log book is 20 pages long and you have to read through all that crap over and over to figure out your next mission or what you need to do next, it drove me crazy. The other main killer on morrowind was the combat system, bottom line: ...... it sucks. Fable over morrowind on any day.

re: Morrowind or Fable.

If morrowind was like fable that would be nice as in the scenery and the combat. Also the graphics would bring a nicer feel to morrowind. Fable starts off kind of fast and you know what you are supposed to do where as morrowind dumps you in a town and it takes forever to do even little quests. My suggestion hard core rpg persons should play both and others should play fable. It took me 3 months to beat morrowind and two weeks for each expansion. It took me ten hours to beat fable. All in all i loved both games.

re: Morrowind or Fable.

Fable... hands down. The quests in Morrowind were too nebulous for me. I could go explaoring in a town and come to an area where a group of guys immediately hate me and want to kill me. I am sure that there is a quest involved there, but I have yet to talk to one of the jillion random faceless characters and gone through the dialog to get the info on the quest. Fable is a fun, well paced game. Morrowind was too slow and too empty for me.

Fable by far...Morrowind blows after awhile all the glitches and what not. The new Elder Scrolls 4 = oblivion is gonna be the best game ever though. If only fable had a longer storyline tisk tisk...

It's got to be fable people, iv'e had morrowind for a while now and have compleated a great deal of the game but it's a bit slow, although it has great depth fable has fast paced action and a cool character creation system, the key is to not rush this masterpiece.

The thing I hate the most about morrowind besides all the reading and the crapy combat system is when your doing the nerivarine(sp?) And you've gotta go back and forth from the damn camps that are way out in the middle of no where.

re: Morrowind or Fable.

morrowind is ten times the game fable is... lets se what does fable have that morrowind doesn't... combat system is excellent on fable, the best i have played. the grapics obviously(morrowind kicked 3 year old games ass on graphics too when it was new) ,, your characters looks are very cool in fable, however, i wouldn't say it is a very big advantage over morrowind seeing as you only see your armor and stuff, in fable most of the time all you can see is your head(and morrowind gave you a ton of choices on cool way to equip your hero to make him look awesome) sure people in fable say about 2-3 phrases repeatativly, but so did morrowind. but morrowind went as far as have each person have a 1-100 rating of friendlieness toward you that was effected by you fame, appearance, affiliations, and bribes, not to mentionquests on fable do this, "follow the big golden/silver flashing thingy you *bleep*) where as in morrowind, you get to experience a quest by hearing a possible quest. you have to follow directions to get to it (sometimes tough, but nothing easy is rewarding(IE Fable)) Fable has great music, not as good as morrowind, but great nonetheless(sp) there are like 6-7 tops suits of armor/attire in fable, and less than 10 types of weapons, oh but you can augment these weapons,, compare that to being able to capture the soul of a fallen enemy and enchant a sword with that soul, or use that soul to enchant your armor with magical properties. not to mention you can make your own spells from a huge list of effects. both are great , but comparing these two is like comparing a ride on a weekend at the lake with a speedboat with a 2 week cruise in the bahamas. both fun, but one lasts longer..

PS KOTOR is the best by far of all

re: Morrowind or Fable.

ps.. I rented morrowind, hated it, and didn't play it for like a year, my friend convinced me to try it again, and once you get going it is fun,, just try it. you suck at first, but that makes getting faster and stronger mean more when you do get better, anyway, give it a shot

re: Morrowind or Fable.

i had high expectatons on fable that it would kick my morrowinds a$$ but after beating fable i only have a few things to say....i had more fun playing morrowind and there was alot more to do in morrowind. fable had a way better story and its ageing system was good but not what i expected. fables combat was like 10 times better than morrowinds but i liked morrowind because there is so much to do and see becoming a werewolf a vampire owning guilds and getting to create your own town, u could mess around in morrowing for hours not even doing a main or side quest. morrowinds better to me becuse a i played well over 50 hours of game play and i thought after playing fable i would never come bac to morrowind. well i was wrong. now i have a new game to be excited about and thats the new morrowind: oblivion, i doubt i will be disspointed with it because it has fables combat but it has way better graphics than fable and it will hav that old great gameplay goodness of playin around not doin side or main quest for hours.

With Morrowind you can play it for 200 hours and still not get everything there is to get out of it.
i installed morrowind on december 24th 2003. still playing it every day and finding new things

quote MasterCheat
I still prefer Fable. KOTOR is in the Future, Fable and Morrowind are more in the Dark Ages. But Fable is done better IMO.
uhh you clearly know nothing of star wars then. what does it say when a game/movie starts? a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. last time i checked... "long time ago" doesnt mean "in the future" plus KOTOR is 5000 years before the movies. thats a REALLY long time ago. just thought i'd point that out

i havent gotten the game yet but it seems there isnt a real free roam in it. that alone will set my vote on morrowind. ppfftt...waiting for this silly game ever since they first started talking about it. such a waste of time
