How to set up a shop. |
|
I noticed while browsing through my statistics that there was a statistic saying "Shops Owned". It sounds interesting, so I felt like looking into it. Any help here?

Kill a shop keeper, or lead them out of town, the shop is up for sale and you can buy it.

Good question, I have being meaning to ask that too.
Does it work for all shops/Taven? and what sort of income does it generate?

Yes it works with all. Shops are not that great of an income but the shop keeper will give you discounts, and taverns are pretty decent profitable businesses.

Shops and taverns generate the same rent percentage as houses when you rent them out. I can't remember off-hand what the percentage is, though...

How do you collect the income it generated? does it automatically add the total or do you have to visit each location to collect it?

Shops do not generate the same percentage. They are pretty stingy and can be quite expensive to buy and give less rent than a cheaper house. You must visit each place and there will be a bag out near the house/shop/tavern and you must collect. THe bags will only be up to three so if you wait more than three days you lose money.

quote TolemoDon't they? *shrug* I don't generally collect rent. Just owning the town is enough for me. ------------------- "never let a man dictate your wingspan or your footwear." - Marty McConnell, "Joan of Arc to the $2000-an-hour woman"

You have to own every available building in it. Bowerstone South is the most difficult, because of the kids.

quote Eve B Hart...Which brings me to my next question. Does one go about acquiring buildings in Bowerstone the same way as one does in Oakvale(basically, to get the house for sale, do you just kill 'em, or do you lead them out of town, either way, I have the money

If you're good, you can lead all but one woman out of Bowerstone South. She won't go with you. And you can't lead the kids out of town.
If you want to use the killing method, it takes a long time, unless you use mercs. Commit a crime, refuse to pay, and everyone in town will become an enemy. When your mercs aren't preoccupied with guards, they'll attack villagers. They can't kill kids. No one can kill kids, and you can't lead them out of town. So, what you can do is marry the wo/man of a house, and there's a chance that the kid will move into your marital house with him/her. Unless you either elimate or adopt all the kids, you can't own all of Bowerstone South. ------------------- "never let a man dictate your wingspan or your footwear." - Marty McConnell, "Joan of Arc to the $2000-an-hour woman"

Oh. Dang. Well, um, what would be the easiest way to go about getting the tavern up for sale, and what is the approximate price?

Killing all is the easiest way as you must kill the bard and you must kill the game patron dude there. Price varies from town to town.

I believe he's speaking specifically of Bowerstone South, Tolemo..
I wanna say that the Bowerstone South tavern is somewhere between 30K and 36K gold.... Anyway, yes, the only way to get rid of the bard and game guy is to kill them. OR. If you're playing the original Fable, then you can just do the time freeze trick, and all the buildings will go up for sale. ------------------- "never let a man dictate your wingspan or your footwear." - Marty McConnell, "Joan of Arc to the $2000-an-hour woman"
