Here's a written up version of all this information with plot and character details along with some info regarding the game.
After all the content they seem to be putting into this game (300 demons, proper exploration), it kinda makes SMT: DS look like a joke. ------------------- Who Cares really? I mean, in the end it's all just politics. Friends helping friends, it's the same people who rise up again. | |

I just wrote a review for Devil Survivor, if you guys want to check it up. It'll give you a basic idea, but Strange Journey will add a lot more to it, like proper exploration and stuff, being an actual MegaTen game and all. Overall, I think SMT:DS is a pretty decent entry-point if you're interested in Strange Journey. Plus, it'll help kill some time till it's released.

Classic Megaten battle systems focus on weaknesses. SMT3 used Press Turn, but the older Megatens uses more of a standard first person battle system. Skills + Elements + Weaknesses reign surpreme, and you win battles with the correct tactics. If you've played SMT3, you have an idea of the battle system.
The meat of the battle system are demons. You have to negotiate with demons before they join you (more in-depth than say Devil Survivor). Strange Journey will have 300+. Fusions to create stronger demons are also available. Hardcore Gaming 101 has a good article that explains Megaten. -------------------
