Tips for a newbie?

Hello, I am new to the forums and MPH. Basically I need some tips to play wifi better, because quite frankly I am terrible. If I'm lucky I get one kill.

So does anyone have some tips? Also... what is a good sensitivity to use?

Edit* What are some types of hacks to look out for too? So far I have seen people with the Omega Cannon in levels it shouldn't be, and infinite life. I was wondering though, could the infinite life just be caused by lag? Because sometimes I will have blasted someone like... 100 times, and then they just disappear. They didn't die, they were just instantly gone. Is that lag?

re: Tips for a newbie?

Okay, here we go.

1. Pick a character. I recommend Sylux or Samus, as they are high tier and are easier to master than the low tier characters.

2. Pick three weapons that you want to master. I recommend powerbeam, magmaul, and volt driver. Use them non stop until you are comfortable using them against superior players. Then pick some more.

3. Learn to control the map. You need to time the respawning of healths, and make sure that at all costs, that you do not let your enemy get the health before you. Play at Sanctorus to learn this, as there are only two health orbs, and they are straight across from eachother.

4. Know what your enemy can do to kill you. This comes from a lot of experience, and as you play more and more, you will run an infinite amount of scenarios that your enemy will try in your head. The hard part is figuring out what they are trying to do.

5. Exploit your enemies weaknesses. This comes from a large amount of experience. For example, Spire is the slowest character. So in a map such as Sanctorus, use his slow speed to help you control the map.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

re: Tips for a newbie?

Try a sensitivity of 5-10. That's probably one of the better sensitivities for a newer user. What I did, was start at 5, and progressively go slower until I was at 1. Having it at 1 helps with long range aim, and if you have enough experience, close range wont be so hard, because your stylus hand will be fast enough.

That's what I did. Not saying it's what you should do.

Basicly do what Frost said and you will do good. Aim comes with experience and sensitivity is just a preference.

I personally used 1 for my sensitivity. It did wonders for my powerbeam. Changing to 1 was a tip from Cheese.

I thought I was pretty original using 1 sensitivity until now. Seems like everyone uses it. Dx

Take it from someone who's never played the game, go into morphball and spam anything that moves.

Yeah, you could try doing what they tell you to do, or you can kill yourself whenever you find a player named MrGrimm on random.

Actually MrGrimm, I do remember finding you on random once. You didn't even add me as your rival.
