Why does my friend become a rival when i vs him when he hasnt added me yet but i vs him in another friends match?

I've had that happen. Well, they need to have you registered too for you to be actual friends. If you have them registered and they don't have you registeres, it doesn't take that as a "friendship" and transforms that "friend" into a rival. Not sure why it does that.
