That is so true. The capture stall alone makes it useful. That's why I like using Hawke: + 10% stats, long CO bar. Not that bad of a trade-off.

I was talking about AWDOR online battles. They take a very long time.

You'll only be able to use your COP/SCOP once, at best. Due to them raising slower the more you use them, and Hawke's meter having the slowest build up of the entire AWDOR cast, its just not likely you'll even have your COP or SCOP when you really need them.

His attack/defense boosts are probably the things that are best about him. Still, with skills, its not that amazing.

Of the three army damaging COs (Drake, Olaf, Hawke) I view Hawke as the weakest. In my opinion, Drake's and Olaf's do a lot more.

Which is why I say he isn't cheap. Drake cuts fuel reserve in half and Olaf makes it snow. All Hawke does is heal himself. I'd say he's a middle tier character.

You know, I'm actually thinking of developing a tier list, but just for fun.

Unlike those SSB tiers that are for people who can't choose their own character that they like most, I'd like to make one in AW because, well, there are clear differences between the COs when you think about it.

Just putting that out there. If anyone wants to help, it'd be appreciated.

I agree, on both the SSB and Advance wars ideas. In all three SSBs, I play as Falcon, an upper tier character. But, I also use Mewtwo a lot in Melee, a bottom tier character. But I digress.

An Advance Wars tier list would be new. There are definitely some COs who have an edge against other ones, and I have a feeling that the major villains will be top tier out of cheapness alone.

Searching AWDS tier list I came up with this:

Broken:
Colin, Hachi, Grit, Kanbei, Sensei

Significantly Overpowered:
Nell, Kindle

Overpowered:
Eagle, Jess, Rachel, Sami, Sonja

Slightly Overpowered:
Hawke, Von Bolt, Olaf, Sasha

Balanced:
Andy, Jake, Lash, Javier, Adder/Koal, Flak/Jugger

Underpowered:
Max, Drake, Grimm

Underpowered:
Max, Drake, Grimm

WTF lol. Anyway, I'll be working on the bottom tier first. I don't know about Von Bolt, he wasn't that great.

In SSB... I play as Yoshi. But I love pikachu and ness.

Broken:
Hachi, Colin, Grit, Rachel, Nell, Eagle, Sami.

Significantly Overpowered:
Drake, Olaf, Hawke, Grimm, Jess, Andy.

Overpowered:
Javier, Kanbei, Sasha.

And all the others. lol

Rachel is significantly broken. lol. Max is at least overpowered, and sasha is at least significantly overpowered. Any CO that has a long CO meter, she's better then. Javier needs a com tower to be even a little good. Also, Sonja isn't bad on FoW, where she's amazing.

And what about Kindle?

Well in short words, she's just average. No more, no less.

True. I like to look at her as a Rachel counter, though. Think about it.

So far what I have come up with.

Significantly broken: Rachel.

Broken: Hachi/Colin/Grit. Sami.

Significantly overpowered: Nell. Sensei. Grimm. Andy. Kanbei.

Overpowered: Olaf. Drake. Sasha. Max.

Normal: Jake. Hawke. Kindle. Sonja. Eagle.

Underpowered: Javier. Von Bolt. Koal/Adder. Flak/Jugger.

Reason why I see Eagle as normal is because he needs air units to do good, which isn't that common. He's terrible without air units. SCOP takes too long.

Also, Javier absolutely needs CT to combat anyone, but that's rare. He's still too good vs. Grit.

Still, there's some parts where I'm a little confused about.

Sturm vs. Von Bolt. I wish that could happen...

The real difference is their SCOPs. One does massive damage, and one stuns. I guess it just comes down to preference. Personally, I won't use either of the cheap SOBs myself.

Sturm is the cheapest SOB ever. Say hi to infantry freely moving over mountains and rivers and rockets/missiles not being effected by plains.

Von Bolt is lol

I wonder how broken Sturm would be now if his character was continued. Just imagine him in AWDOR.
