Similar Games

You know, there are some things that I've always hated about AW, for example, you can't have a unit attack and run. It has to be ether attack, or run and attack. Then one day I luckely stumbled upon Final Fantasy Tactics. That isn't a traditional RPG. It's battle system is similar to AW, but turns are calculated by unit. It is very well crafted and well planed out. Any other similar games that are a little better planed out? Anyone out their on this forum?

re: Similar Games

Um, no.

Advance wars is fine as it is. If it's hard, then deal with it.

Who cares if they can't do 2 things at once? You could win a battle in 1 day if you could do that!

Just because chess/checkers is a strategy game doesn't mean it's just like it.

You shouldn't discuss other games in this forum anyway. Take it somewhere else.

re: Similar Games

Yes,once I tried a game that I tought I would like(I'm not saying names)it was like a real war(positions, fronts, really long advance and indirect attacks distances, etc)but it was somekind boring and the "COs"you could chose from were few and almost equal,AND you couldn't build anything new(Boooooriiiing),I lent it to a friend and fortunately(I was annoyed by the game)lost it,anyway,I continued with Advance Wars and liked to have a somekind diferent game(I bought the boring game because of it's critisizing,I'm not going to believe anything from the videogame Topten again)

re: Similar Games

Well, Fire Emblem is somewhat similar to Advance Wars (being made by the same company), but, if anything, it's harder... You can't mass-produce units, and if a character dies, they're dead. It's sort of like Advance Wars mixed with a medieval-style RPG. It's good, but I doubt it's the type you're looking for.

QFT.

Although some levels in the first two AW games were extremely difficult, I thought this one was quite easy. Altoghether I found Fire Emblem more enjoyable.

re: Similar Games

Fire Emblem is harder in some ways, easier in others.

I like AW just fine the way it is...

re: Similar Games

I don't think Dual Strike was as hard as Black Hole Rising, but it definitely has certain gimmicks that make it fun and original in its own way. I think the Tag Battle is a major step forward for the series, but on the other hand, it can be a bit frustrating during the longer fights, when you gather your forces for a final push, only to be beaten back in one turn. Other than that, it really comes down to your preferences as a gamer. If you're looking for a good story, go with FFTA (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance). I've never played Fire Emblem, but I hear it's one of the best RPGs out there. Another title to check out is LOTR: The Third Age for GBA. It's not quite as fun as Advance Wars, but it has definite appeal to hobbit fans.
