I noticed in the past few weeks that i started playing maplestory again (i hadnt played in like 3 months) that the community for this game has become WAY much worse than what it used to be. is nexon advertising this game a lot these days? because im having 2x the problems i had when i used to play. yea, there were idiots back then but when looking for a friend i always found a nice one. i never got mean people or scammers in cpq, i never had those problems. the community was nicer. now, its like a hole of crap. maplestories community is terrible now, i can hardly stand playing. this game is one of the most fun mmorpgs ive played in my years of massive online gaming. the community is whats driving me away. right now frankly, runescape sounds more fun to play (saying that was hard because i really dont like that game now) i was lpqing this morning and my whole party were idiots. i was called a lazy ass numerous times because i couldnt kill the stupid shadow and i called for help, the leader spammed me saying facker facker facker facker. i left the party in the middle of the pq cause i was fed up and i got mass defamed, wouldnt you leave too if that was happening?

now that was just an intro heres my real problem. this game purely relies on socializing (party quests, fame/ defame etc.) if you dont PQ itll take you some long time to level and i tell you, i hate grinding so training is not an option mostly. ive tried to go without pqing but i still get ksed and flamed for saying change channels please. for one, is there anyway to turn off chat? id be much more content with the game if you could turn off chat like runescape. and whats with the fame system? i dont know what the point in it is, but im sure you need it for quests or wearing stuff. so even though i dont know what its for, i get angered if im defamed by some idiot who has mental issues. is there anyone willing to maybe cpq trade wins with me or lpq with me who wont be an idiot? if so thatd make me more happy playing this game. so my main problem is the game solely requires socialization. ive been trying to be as unsocial as possible (not unfriendly i just try not to get too much attention drawn to me) i just cant help the fact feeling like theres no point in playing this game when i will get driven out by idiots who will rule maplestory one day.

is there any way to just live in a maplestory cave and do all the same training and stuff without the idiots? its like the term, "have you been living under a rock? everyone knows ____" frankly, i want to live under a maplestory rock right now.

i can see the flamers coming, so ill say it right now. if you dont have any FRIENDLY answers, please just be on your way. we dont need online arguing, it wrecks up our already wrecked up world.

I'm pretty sure like, no one over level 70 pqs (except maybe stuff like apq, for apples and pineapple chews).

All you have to do is ignore people. It works 100% of the time.

well for one, i was a total newb and didnt know anything about online video games when i signed up like 1 and a half years ago, and when i played at that time, i never had many problems. maybe i was just lucky. i dont know. and i probably wont even get past the lvl 60s and stuff anyways. ever since ive been playing these days ive noticed a big change in the game's community, maybe its just me. id ont know. i played last winter and never had these problems.

Hey no prob in feeling that way. Everyone does at some point or another. If you really are getting that angry or frustrated just take a real long break from Maple Story.

I've had to several times. My breaks average 6 months.

In time you kind of forget the negatives and start thinking about the fun parts.

Take a break, but mark my words, you will be back.

It's a boring game tbh.

I just don't understand the point of it anymore.

i think i understand the point of it is to grind forever, then when you get to lvl 200 you have a quitting party and you spend the rest of your life weeping for the fact that you spent months of your life wasting money on nx, and grinding boringly. but anyway i think ill take another nice long break and be back within 4-6 months. i think ill try playing mabinogi cause it sounds like a cool game.

i think ill stay on these forums somewhat though. but i wont be posting everyday like i usually did.
