no, its not a hack or a glitch. they sit on a bench, then get hit by a monster. they go back from the hit, but are still sitting.

at first when i saw someone do that they told me that its a cash shop item to sit on air but eventually I found out about the bench -.-. By the way If u plan to sit on it its easier if u do it when standing on the sitting part, u proboaly dont get what im saying -.-

I saw something like that in mapleisland on broa ch 15 it was the second place with green snails and they were 'shooting' towards the wall so once they appear they would just shoot towards the wall and i killed like 50 of em there and got my new bandit to lv 9 from lv 6
