Eh.. sorry to bug you guys again.. but im wondering if this has happened to any of you. Whenever I try to log onto my character on Windia Channel, right as soon as I get into the game, MS crashes. Anyone know why?

Does it happen every time, or just once in a while? MapleStory is prone to crashing randomly.

After logging off at around 5:00 PM EST today, it crashes every time I try to join the game. It isnt like im being disconnected, as soon as I get into the game and see my character, it just crashes, I just reinstalled the game but it didnt fix it.. so im wondering if its my character or something..

Have you tried logging into other servers?

Well.. I tried making characters on other servers, but it was the same thing on Bellocan, as soon as i got in it crashed. The only thing that I did since after i last logged off before my next attempt was i started but canceled the manual patcher. I just ran a system restore and im gonna see if it works but im open to other suggestions XD.

Report back the results after the system restore. We'll see what we can do if that doesn't work.

Same error still.. just for craps n giggles.. im gonna download the manual patcher.. since I attempted to download but canceled for some reason or another.. the systemrestore shoulda gotten rid of whatever it caused but.. you never know.

System Restore only rolls back the system settings. It doesn't touch anything else, so it wouldn't have done much for you anyway. Try the manual patcher, because there is a good chance your patch got corrupted somehow and in turn corrupted the game client.

Yeah im up to 58% now.. (dialup shoot me!) But im not sure if it will work since I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. So im figuring it had to corrupt something else related to MS but not MS itself.. we shall see.. btw are you some MS genius or something? Just about all the time its been you coming to my rescue XD.

If manual patching doesn't work, then I'm going to have to dig around some to see if anyone else has had this problem. Have you made any changes to your computer before the crashes started happening?

Lol thanks but you dont have to go through all that trouble like finding others with this issue heh. Um.. changes wise no.. I played for about 1 hour when I got home.. logged off.. went to maple global site to fiddle with patch but then noticed version 0.31 is latest or whatever, so canceled, and shut computer off. Turned it on, tried to access, then got these errors. So honestly if this doesnt work the only OTHER thing I can think of to try to do is do what I did to get MS to install in the first place, ran a Virus and Spyware scan then did a restart and somehow it got it to recognize my C drive had enough space.. (I dont think the makers of this game are good with math.. considering its only 414 MB and it sayd there wasnt enough room on my drive with 13.3 GB left XD.)

I hope that works out for you, because if that doesn't work, I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. Sorry there wasn't much I could do.

Lol youve been a great help.. and me thinks I found out whats wrong.. I just tried to load the patcher, and it says Canvas.dll is corrupt, then prompts me to download MSsetup.exe.. Canvas.dlls directory is the maple story folder. THIS is probably why it isnt working. All I have to do is download a new Canvas.dll and replace the broken one.

yes it's happened to me too, except mine crashed when it was downloading a new patch. i think just after many many re-downloads/installs did it work. even tried searching google for canvas.dlls, but only gibberish came up.

Well i just replaced canvas.dll.. but now im getting a new error. After it connects to gameguard, and it starts to load the program, it closes itself out and says access denied wiht some long error code. Im gonna uninstall and reinstall again. only thing I have to say is THANK THE LORD this is not Final Fantasy XI because I would not be doing this wiht that game.. over 10GB HD space lol..

Edit: Agh.. for a minute I thought I had it.. my character was in a different spot than what the normal loadups were when it would crash and it looked like it was working.. but then it crashed again. After retrying. my character was yet again in the air and I can only see for a second before it crashes on me... *Tosses computer at the wall* Im through with this...

Edit2:Hey.. if it makes any difference.. I just noticed this. My character ISNT where it was when I logged out. Right before it crashes hes in mid air, but I logged out resting in my relaxer on a platform with a ladder connected to it..
