This is my 2nd or 3rd week of playing Maple Story. I absolutely love the game. For a free MMO, it sure has a lot of content. However, during my first 2 weeks, I noticed there are certain groups of people on Maple destory the fun and cuteness of the game. Following are the stereotypes I've seen so far:

L33Tists

These obsessive players play this game for the sole purpose of feeling some sort of accomplishment. They are easy to spot since they probably spent more NX CASH on their virtual wardrobe than what they actually wear in real life. They also like to call newbies "n00bs" and consider themselves a "pro".

Hackers

Annoying not to mention dumb players who either have no time to actually train their characters, in which case they shouldn't be mapling anyways, or they suck at life that they need help the virtual world too. Report these morons whenever you see one. They are easy to spot because of their item magnet super powers and homing arrows.

Scammers

These pathetic players play this game for the sole purpose of earning mesos. They spent hours trying to lure unsuspecting newcomers and rip them off of their n00bish gear. They also tend to love fame and will offer a good sum to lure victims. They change channel as soon as they are famed. Great way to spend your free time, scamming to become famous on a videogame.

Beggers

These players might be more annoying than hackers and scammers combined. They can be spotted running around begging for mesos. Well, not sure what they do in real life when they need money, but to be this lazy in a virtual game is *bleep*ed. If you need 1k then go friggin kill some dudes for 10 mins.

Racists

I see these players at least once a day. For some reason, racism on Maple is more ubiquitis than real life. They really ruin the friendliness of the game.


Personally, I enjoy the game because its fun, for a casual MMO that is free and also happen to be good is quite a rarity. Although the game suffers from these despicable players who shouldn't have the privilege of playing such a decent game, once in a while I'd run into some truly friendly people who helps out newbies. If I missed any other types please feel free to share.

I'm also curious what fame actually does, and also if you have a high negative defame, does that mean anything.

There is like two equips where you need 25 fame otherwise it is pretty pointless. And I still don't get why you called this "Stereotypes" I was thinking it would be about how people think all clerics are the best and all pages suck.

The 4's into 5's dont cost you! its the same thing! So shut the eff up about that! it doesn't make a big difference! maybe only about 10 damage each point in higher levels! wow Big Deal!

Actually, that can make quite a bit of difference...


Bah, I don't think I'll restart, bit I'll keep my Dex about 1/4 of my strength from now on

Well, I think it's ok to spend NX, but an excessive amount isn't necessary. But that's just my personal opinion.What does bother me though is people think that they are pro because they are a high lvl. If youre a high lvl, then you spent more time than me, not because you are more talented. And the particular group I'm referring to in my post are the ones that put newbies down, which I find annoying.

No one can Ks me at level 28.. And I have a nice Atk Work Glove well not really but its 7 att.. And a 5 dex cape? Huh Huh huh?

You want nothing higher than 5's in the 2 stats oyu don't use. IF you are lvl 2X or above. It's a little late so if you have NX spend it on changing such said stats. And you are lvl 28 and can KS everybody?
