ok, when on the tiles that move and stuff, ( this is the second time on the tiles} You know when you jump up on those two platforms to get to the door, which, gets you to another rolling disk thingy. Well, on the first platform, jump right instead of left. there is a platform with a door in it (hidden by pillar). sorry if it is a bit confusing

I need so much help on this game........I can't find all the pitfall letters....

My pitfall is from genesis,but I think its similar to the PC one.

Well,could someone really kind help me where to find them,telling:

1)the part of the game ex: Tazamul mines

2)the directions

I can't find it anywhere on internet.Faqs dont have this either.

I would appreciate any help from shadowkisses,the man or anyother person.

What is the purpose of collecting all these letters?

I have been able to find P,I,F,A,L,L. The T is missing...

I know that P is in the 3rd stage (you just need to go to the right near the beginning, instead of climbing the rope), I is in the 4th (near the 2600 stage) and F is in the 6th. I suppose T is in the 5th stage, but i can't find it. Can anyone help me?

The letter A is near the end (I don't remember exactly which stage, it's a blue-ish stage, IIRC).
The first L is just before you fight Warrior Spirit, and i just recently found out how to get in the room where it is. As it is explained above, you have to enter a door that is hidden behind a pillar, above the moving platforms (above the water).
And finally, you get the second L after you defeat Warrior Spirit.

So, how can I find T?

Well, just a little more searching and i found T. I hadn't played this game for years (especially since the sound effects don't work on WinXP, i only play it when i use my old PC, which is at my parents' home...), but look what a few years of experience bring! :-) I found the two missing letters in just a few minutes and i really couldn't find them when i was younger. :-P

So far, this is the guide for the hidden letters of Pitfall (PC version). I need more info about F and A. I know where they are, but i hav to play it again to giv complete instructions... If i hav time, i will post the rest of the instructions here. You can use this information as you like: you can copy, send to your friends, post somewhere as a FAQ, update your FAQ if you hav written one, etc.

P: Tazamul Mines (3rd stage)
At the beginning, go to the right instead of climbing up the rope.

I: Lost City of Copan (4th stage)
You start below a platform with a white scorpion on it. Go to the right, climb all the way up and jump left to get to the platform with the scorpion. You will find the 2600 bonus level and the letter I

T: Copan Temple (5th stage)
The first time you hav to climb down a rope, you will find a switch to your left that is easily accessible (so pull it down) and one to your right that is not. Below, you will find fireballs. Behind a pillar, you will find a rope that you can use to reach the other switch. Pull it down and go back to the fireballs. Fall thru the hole on the ground, kill some spiders and grab the letter T.

F: Lakamul Rain Forest (6th stage)
(better instructions needed)
It is somewhere near the main path. Be sure to explore the whole stage (fall off ropes if you need).

A: Tikal Ruins (antepenultimate stage)
(better instructions needed)
I vaguely remember it is in a small room that is not hard to find, below the main path, near the end of the stage. So explore the place before going up to fight the boss!

L: Temple of Tikal (penultimate stage)
Near the end of the stage, you will find for the second time some moving tiles above water. You hav to enter a door that is hidden behind a pillar. It is just to the right of a door that gets you to the second rolling disk scene.

L: Warrior Spirit (last stage)
You get it after defeating the boss.


Now, i need to play the whole game again and grab all the letters to find out what they do. I wouldn't expect more than a congratulations screen, tho.

Lakamul Rainforest- You will see the letter above your head up in the trees. It's at the end of a bridge of branches. When the branches meets the tree trunk you can jump behind the trunk onto a rope and climb up and go back to the left and grab it.

Tikal Ruins- Towards the end you'll be going down a rope and off to the left you can jump into a little room on the wall and push a switch then at the end under the path theres the room with the letter.

also have pc version how do u getthe first l (tikal temple) i see it but cant reach it and ive gone behind a pilar like you sadi but still cant reach it

okay i was just playing pitfall a while ago and i didn't win the game but i was able to find the letters p,i,t,f (don't remember if i got a) and all lot of people have trouble with the t (i don't know why i am always able to find it.) and it's in the temple of copan (i might be wrong but im only ten and i don't remember everything) somwhere near the end.

Ill post the location by tomorrow OK?

I can't find the swwitch on gens version

I found it now =]
It's on last annoying switching rocks. Left of it there's a heart visible in a window, and the switch is hidden in that wall.
I plaied it much time ago and I forgot where some letters are

it is in tazamul mines there is a secret passage behind one of the barrels (you have to blow up the barrel first)
