No sadly you can't play as any other pokemon which is sad and darn right wrong of Nintendo to do this. I would of like to play as Mudkip my favorite starter but it never happened.

Yeah, I'd like to play as Treecko, him being a speedster in all. They should at least let you choose between 3 Pokémon. Nintendo's going to ruin Pokémon if it keeps up with the stupid moves.
Heh heh, it'd be funny if they'd let you choose any Pokémon and you chose something like Wailord. -------------------  I may fall, but from ebony embers I shall rise once again.

id love you play as pichu coz hes so darm cute!But if you played as snorlax imagine if you were in first place and near the last thing(cant be boverd 2 rememeber) an you fell asleep that would be a tantrum starter!

I don't realy know,but somebody could possibly
make up a play- as- character code.don't ya think it's boring playing as pickachu over and over?  I'd love to play as my favorite pokemon-that'd be Groudon. Pickachu is pathetic and weak,don't ya think? | |

Yeah, they should let you play as another pokemon. I rented this from gamefly and I hated it. 1. Its too hard 2. You can't be another pokemon 3. They place the goals in too-hard-to-reach areas. DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!

You should be able to insert a game boy game and play as whatever pokemon you have on the game.
