Best classes

Hi, i've just started FF III and i'm at the point were i can chose my classe, i've looked at all of them and i realised that Red Mage has the best stats and weapon choise, so isnt it just best to make a full team of Red Mages? They seem like the strongest so...Anyway please help a noob in distress ^^.

re: Best classes

Red Mages are actually pretty average in both weapon and magic attack. I'm not sure about defense. What I reccommend is a white mage to specialize in supportive magic, a black mage to specialize in offensive magic, a warrior and/or monk for physical attacks and a theif just for the agility. The thief is all your choice but for people just starting, I would strongly reccommend the prior classes.

re: Best classes

Koj is pretty much right about this. When you start leveling your overall level and job level, the red mage won't have that decent of stats, just be average. As far as what jobs to pick, I would say a white mage, a black mage, a warrior, and a monk (though this one very low defense).

re: Best classes

Id Steer Clear From Red Mage Since They Are, In My Opinion, Insanely Weak, They Can Only Wield Low Level Spells, They Have Average Joe Stats And Can Barely Defend A Team, Like The Other Two Said, Hang On To Black Mage And White Mage, At Least Until You Get Sage

Yeah, but he just started, Red Mages are frankly the best until you get magic that they can't use, which is quite a while really. But get a Thief. It saves a lot of time on getting one to job level 99 if you use one and their equipment and stats are good enough to stand up to the third set of jobs at least, and I used one the whole time before ancients maze, so they are good. Bit weak though

I changed mine to a Dragoon when they died too often.

re: Best classes

I usually have 2 red mages, 1 black mage, and 1 white mage at that point.

That way, no-one faces any problems at a later point in which you have to go through a dungeon Mini, and magic also seems more effective at this point. But, you need physical attacks too, which is what the red mages can be used for.
