Week 9: Knight.

Ok, good attack, good defense, good weapons, and that nice little chilvery thing.

What's not to like?

I like my knight I barely have to heal him since hes still using the blood sword from a while back.

You can equip the blood sword to your knight and put him on hte front line so he does more damage and regain more health. Knoghts also gain loads of HP and are good defensive people cause they save your weaknend allies.

Knight: The designated meat-shield of the Fire Crystal. The Knight is different from the Warrior in the sense that he is more of a defensive battlepriest than the Advancing juggernaut of the Warrior.

Benefits: The main thing that separates the Knight from other tanks is that knights have the ability to give himself extra defense through Guard. Knights also are the only class that has an "inbred" ability, and that is to take the hit for any person that's in yellow range. Adding those two abilities creates a defensive stalwart that can hold off any enemy strike until the healer comes to cast Cure spells on the party. Knights can also cast a quick heal or a poison cure in a pinch.

Excalibur + Ragnarok for the win.

Downfalls: Throughout the game, the Knight's armor seems to be outdated, causing the Knight to take more damage than a tank should handle. While the Warrior has Advance to fully realize offensive potential, and the Viking has Provoke to realize a perfect tanking strategy, the Knight doesn't have the capabilities to be an offense or defense machine.

Not to mention my Knight is the numbnut of my Final Fantasy file.

Verdict: The knight is a journeyman of both worlds, but a master of neither. Use the knight as you will, as there are plenty of great swords available in the game, but if you want a real tank to save your party from an early demise, a Viking is a better option.

By the way, Vikings suck cause they will take a lot of damage from spells like Firaga. more than a Knight will take. Knights can own with the Save the Queen and the Ultima Weapon. They are offensive machines when their job level is at 99.

Continue the debate!

They have certain advantages, double items, and that scan ability, buttheir not really worth it.

Scholars are alright, the only reason I had one is for the scan ability, then I went back to onion knight FTW!

Scholars are actually pretty good if you have a high job level thief in your party. Steal items, then have the scholar use them FTW.

My theif is 69 I don't care for scholars too much =/

Yeah I know Scholars aren't that useful. They are semi-useful against the boss Hein.

Scholars aren't that good at all. They are supposed to be used for that one boss (I can't remember which one... Hein maybe?) but didn't use it for that even. The double strength for items is pretty cool, but I don't think it's that useful unless you cheat and get a lot of the attack items. In the end, I say don't bother, because there are plenty of more useful jobs out there.

No, they suck against Hein. Even with the knowledge of his current weakness, by the time you exploit it he's already changed. I've done better just having three people cast diffrent spells.

I know the job that makes the scholar look bad against Hein is the Geomancer with the Terrain attack.
