Well, have you every played the Gamecube version? It's alright to play one player, but it can get repetitive and in my opinion, multiplayer is better.

this game was a nice change from the normal ff, however its plot is very repetitive before it really catches on, but all up it's a fun game.

Are we talking about the DS FF:CC, or the GameCube version?

I think we're talking a bit of both here.

I'm trying to get the 'Cube version for the single player as it still looks like a fun game though I'm sure it would play best in multiplayer. The DS version will support wifi play however so you'll get the best of both worlds.

re: Is it worth buying the game if I only want to play one player?

Just in my opinion I think 1 player is better. I never played 4 player though only 2 player. 2 player kind of annoying because you or your friend have to carry the chalice and you keep having to take turns. I didn't find FF Crystal Chronicles very repetitive, well I do agree the beginning is but ohwell.

re: Is it worth buying the game if I only want to play one player?

in this one noone has to hold the chalice because there is no miasma or something ( http://www.ffrebirth.com/crystalchronicles/ring-of-fates/ffcc-rof.php ), you can also jump in this one. I have the GC and i love it. I just wished i had 4 GBA's and cables to connect them. The only opportunity to play multiplayer was at my friends house because he had everything. But i moved 6 months ago so now i don't live anywhere near him.

I haven't really played single player i just remember 4-player was a blast. And now with DS's, it will be easy to start playing and not have to worry about cables and everything.

Well I don't think this game was all that great. It was sort of hard. I don't think that it really makes a difference.

re: Is it worth buying the game if I only want to play one player?

it is worth buying, but it would but worth more buying it if you had friends to play multiplayer...I was playing ffcc with friends and we were so close to the final boss, we didnt save cause i though it wasnt neccessary, and then someone tried to pull the gc closer to them and the cord disconnected and we lost all our days worth of data...sucks.

From what I've heard, this will definitely be worth playing for single player. According to IGN, Square is focusing a lot more on the story this time around. For one thing, the main characters that you control actually talk.

re: Is it worth buying the game if I only want to play one player?

YES Since multiplay can be playd Single player but some Quests Are Multi player so you need 2 Cards to 100% the whole game.
