Canine Companions

So, what are some of the other games you can think of that feature a dog as a significant character?
What do you think about them, and which ones are your favorites?

So far for me, Hewie OWNS all other video game dogs, he is extremely effective as a protector (if you do a good job of praising him, that is).
Brown, from Rule of Rose, as I mentioned before, is all but useless, in my opinion.
Angelo from Final Fantasy 8 is pretty nifty, and Rinoa must have some fierce arm strength to be able to balance a medium-sized dog like that before launching him at an enemy.

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head at the moment, so maybe ya'll can help me out!

I don't know of any others... But out of those, I'd say Hewie is my favorite too, he seems to be the most helpful.

Brown did help me out a bit too, by distracting enemies. He only does that for so long though.

re: Canine Companions

Yeah, I mean, Brown is good at sniffing out items, but now that I've seen Hewie in action, Brown's distraction technique seems to pale in comparison.
Plus, I'm kinda miffed he led me to the wrong door during my pursuit of the white rabbit, and I had to ask for help in the game forum, because I had no idea where to go.
