True, but I guess by going with Hendrick and Junior Danica simply will get more exposure...as if she doesn't get enough already...or do enough, haha.

Another streak has been extended at Texas-Jeff Gordon wins the pole (Boooooooo...) meaning he has now won at least one pole every year for the last 17 years. He's trying to avoid a season with fewer than 2 poles, if that happens it'll be the first time since '97 he has not won more than 2 poles in a season. Kahne starts 2nd with Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart in row 2. Johnson starts 12th.

Johnson pretty much has the cup. Did some math and if he were to finish 43rd and Martin were to win and lead the most laps, Martin would only gain something like 150 points on him, still giving Johnson a 30 point lead. And we all know Johnson won't finish 43rd unless he has the worst luck. Worst I can see him in is a 10th place finish.

But meh, Gordon could sweep Texas.

I agree that the chase is sort of a fail, but so far we have not seen any non-chasers go on any miraculous winning streaks, or even make up enough points to compete

I like the chase format. People are just not haveing as much luck as Jimmie. The fisrt chase was great, Kurt Busch only won by 8 point, also 05 was exciting. So what if Jimmie wins 4 in a row, he's earned it. His team works hard, and gets the finishes they need to every week. The other teams just can't seem to do it.

It's a Chase again! Johnson wrecks on lap 3 after Hornish gets loose, very heavy damage. Martin and Gordon just got a big chance to get back in it!

I'm loving this race. And Hornish picked the best time to have his racely wreck.

The chase is a fail to be honest. Makes little sense to me: 26 races mean nothing? 10 race shootout? It's all for ratings and excitement, which seems like it'll be great the next two races. Johnson can't coast to his 4th Cup, its all or nothing.

Johnson is back out after over an hour, he's roughly 116 laps down.

And a magic debris caution saved Gordon. Really hate seeing them because it just proves how rigged the sport is.

And he gets caught up in the latest caution, but it appeared he didn't hit anything, just spun and skidded. It got Edwards & Montoya though.

The end of the race came down to who had enough gas. Kyle came up 2 laps short in his effort to sweep all 3 weekend races, which gave the win to Kurt Busch.
Points: Martin was 4th, Johnson 38th. Johnson's lead was 184 going in, it's now 73. Gordon is now 112 back. Kahne, Edwards and Vickers have now been mathematically eliminated.
Next week is Phoenix.

He has been running good lately, then either he makes a mistake, or is a victim of someone elses mistake. he really needs this season to end.

I'm glad to see Kurt win although I was rooting for Kyle to get all three wins. Even though he's not one of my favorite drivers, it still would have been pretty cool to see.
