We just don't hear about it all over the place if it doesn't involve a player with name recognition or doesn't involve guns or crashing cars. If it's not that major you have to really look around the net to find it.
Cassel deal's done. $63 million for 6 years, $28 million is guaranteed. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.

Don't tell me you all waited for me to post this...Vick has been CONDITIONALLY reinstated. He can participate in preseason activities including a couple games but may not yet play in any regular season games (he can still practice and participate in other activities). Goodell could fully reinstate him by Week 6.
And yes, Vick to Washington rumors are already heating up. This just might be what finally gets me to renounce nearly 30 years of burgundy & gold. Edit: Favre is staying retired. This message was edited by DCRage on Jul 28 2009. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.

I hope the Steelers get Vick. Not for his shitty passing ability and high turnover chances, but so I can tell all of the PETA supporters to *bleep* off at training camp.

Fortunately the Skins are now saying no plans to bring Vick in. Good. I'd rather have Campbell over him. If nowhere else send him to the purgatory that is Oakland. He'd fit in well with the silver & blechh.

quote DemonfurbyI just don't want to hear about the guy anymore. Everyone here in Miami are upset that we're not trying to get him. Not me. I don't like him and never did. We don't need Vick in Miami. It makes no sense. Greg Cote is being a dick. Saying that the Phins are the "PERFECT" fit. *bleep* Cote! ------------------- I'M A SPEEDBALLER.

I'd like to see Vick in Miami personally - the ultimate wildcat and all that. I think the guy deserves a second chance.

quote TVI I agree with you that he deserves a second chance, but there's no way that he's coming to Miami (or that Miami is even remotely interested in him to be honest). We just drafted Pat White to help run the Wildcat, it would make no sense to have two running quarterbacks on the roster. I'd hate to see him in New England only because it would be scary to play him two times a year, but perhaps Dallas or Pittsburgh would be better. ------------------- ![]() unwind...

Vick is going to play a season in the UFL, and if he can get himself back into playing shape I'll bet he's on someone's roster by the end of March next year. I think it'll be good for him to play a season in "the minors," it will definitely take some of the pressure off him when he eventually does make it back to the NFL (which I see happening in the foreseeable future).
Chiefs picked up Amani Toomer today. We've got four decent receivers now, hopefully Toomer can mentor Dwayne Bowe a little bit and I think he fits perfectly into what will likely be Haley's offense-a lot of quick-route passing. ------------------- quote Overheard in Loungin'Deists: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, John Adams...the bad history bug strikes again!

Too bad for him the AFL is going to fold, and they wouldn't have played this season anyway. Reportedly there were only 5 teams that didn't say they didn't want him right now, only team with even a chance at anything this season was San Diego.
Plax was indicted yesterday on gun chrges in NYC, although a trial probably won't be for roughly a year, so he could still play this season pending any potential disciplinary action by the league. He's looking at 3 1/2-15 years if convicted on them all. Antonio Pierce was not charged in connection with the incident. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.

I think he was saying that Vick would have had a good chance to play in the AFL. He would've been electric if he would had played for it when it started up again.

He's better off playing in the UFL, where there are only a few minor rules changes from the NFL. The Arena game would definitely be suited to his style of play and probably get him in shape faster with the speed that they played at, but the short, quick passing routes that are common in AFL teams' playbooks wouldn't have tested his arm or reaction to pocket pressure very much.
