loved GT with Calvin Johnson and Tashard Choice, now they are just unbearable to watch with the triple option. they are still a good team, but miami definitely exposed them with their quick defense

re: NCAA Football (2009 Season)

You can say what you want about Florida's defense, but they are the best in the country. You just don't like Florida because they are the top team right now and whoever you like or whichever conference you like isnt the top. You can go and make claims about the SEC being overrated and this and that, and I can go and make the same claims that every other conferences teams are overrated and this and that. Are the teams in the ACC actually really good or are they just close enough to each other to make it seem like it. Is the Big 10 overrated thus Iowa isn't good or are they actually a great team? Is the Big 12 soft this year with injuries and Texas is overrated because of that? I can go on and on so you can try to make dumb arguments, but UF's defensive numbers have the same bias any other team has and they have played some good teams and bad teams like every other school and have shut them down.

Florida is not overrated they just have a weak offense because Tebow is shit and doesnt know how to look at other receivers and look around in the pocket. Also he tries to do to much and *bleep*s us up with dumb decisions because of it. The team would be better if Brantely was QB. The defense is still the best defense in the nation and they are still the best team in the nation. You can throw down all the bs I mentioned before, but if you want to call Florida overrated then every other team in the nation is overrated and so are their stats.

re: NCAA Football (2009 Season)

I don't know exactly which point you are alluding to, but the defense played well against Arkansas. They let up two plays and that was it. Especially with the amount of time they were on the field with all the turnovers it was a good defensive game. And I said this when the game happened if you are going to judge the team based on a game when they uncharacteristically fumble 4 times that's just dumb. It was a weird day with all the fumbles and for a team to even be close with such a horrific and unlucky day is incredible.

And you can make you statements off of Arkansas and all of that, but I could easily same the same about bama last week against UT. Alabama should have lost that game. If UT had a better kicker Alabama WOULD have lost that game. I still think Bama is one of the best teams even though they would have lost if UT had a kicker who wasnt shit.

You can look at a game from the box score and think about the small picture it shows you or you can look at the game from how it was played and the bigger picture and see that things aren't as bad as they look.

Is Florida's offense weak right now? Yes, but that doesn't mean the offense is bad it just means it is keeping them from being way way better than the rest.

re: NCAA Football (2009 Season)

They beat a Georgia team which lost to Okie State which is in the midst of being dominated by Texas.

How about Oregon though? They are dominating USC right now. The big question is what does this win mean for Boise State? Boise beat down on Oregon early on this year and it looks like Oregon could run the table after that and win the Pac 10 easily. Could an undefeated team with a win over a BCS conference champion really be denied a shot at the national title.

re: NCAA Football (2009 Season)

And Michigan lost to a 1 win Illinois team. It was a good win for the Gators especially when you play a rival. The offense started to look better with the play calling and how it was working and that was the most important thing.

Oregon did look impressive. I don't know what happened after that loss to Boise, but they are looking very good right now.

Now I don't think it means much for Boise for a few reasons. If an SEC team and Texas go undefeated or a one loss SEC team defeats an undefeated on in the championship they are going to get in and they whould get in. So if you are in the SEC you are in good position to be in if you win the championship. And an undefeated Texas, which most likely happens is not going to be put behind a Boise. Now if Texas were to lose that makes things interesting, but you still have a possibly undefeated Iowa and Cincinnati. I don't see them passing either unless they start losing.

The reason I don't think this helps Boise is because I feel people are going to look as Oregon having issues at the start of the season, but that they are playing as a new team. So the voters aren't going to give Boise the credit and it will be based on Oregon.

Also, I like Boise and they are a team I always love to watch and root for, but regardless of the situation they dont deserve to go to the national championship. Besides Oregon their schedule was a joke. If a team like Florida had that schedule everyone would be complaining about how them being undefeated means nothing with their easy schedule and all of that. You guys even do that now with Florida's schedule which is clearly much better than Boise's. If Boise wants to make the game they need to either get themselves into the Pac 10 so they can play higher quality teams every week or they need to set themselves up so that they play 3 non conference games against legitimate teams.

re: NCAA Football (2009 Season)

Came back from Jacksonville today after seeing the Georgia-Florida game. I'm deeply disappointed that Georgia didn't put up any fight at all in the second half. Hell, we pretty much gave Florida two touchdowns. I think it was the first play of the second half, we were within our own 10 and Cox's pass got blocked and intercepted. Then later in the game, Logan Grey came in and threw the ball right at Spikes. I'm not sure who he was even throwing it too. Hell, it looked like he thought Spikes was one of his own tightends or running backs that setup a screen or something, so he threw it right to him.

I'm not sure whether or not Florida is going to get out this season undefeated. They look very vulnerable, but I'm not sure if there's anyone that can put them down. They're definitely not the juggernauts that they were in the second half of last year.

I'd like the see Spurrier pull a win out from under them . For some reason, I have more confidence in S. Carolina than I do Alabama at this point. We'll see how Alabama does against LSU next week, though. I don't think Texas can do it. I hate to pull the whole "SEC > everyone else" thing, but I truly believe it at the point. And of course, if any other team other than Texas ends up playing Florida in the BCS NC, they're definitely going to lose.

Iowa lost to Notrhwestern, 17-10. I wouldn't be surprized if they fell down to around 15 or 20 in the BCS.

re: NCAA Football (2009 Season)

Iowa lost without its starting quarterback and playing its third string running back. They'll fall in the polls to be sure, but this is a decent Big 10 team and I think a top 20 team at the end of the year. Let's see how they come back against Ohio State with a Big 10 title on the line.

Depends what Ohio State does this week. Next week would be much more meaningful if OSU beats Penn State this week. Oh well, I need OSU to lost and win against Iowa so Penn State wins the Big 10.

Meant to mention this but was too busy marking out...GO NAVY! Got tight near the end but the Mids held on for the big win and they are going bowling. This should give them some good momentum going into "the game"-BEAT ARMY! And they probably ended Notre Dame's BCS hopes much to my delight.

Thank goodness for that. Even if they win out against Pitt, UConn, and Stanford, and somehow convince enough voters to put them back in the teens, the computers are much less forgiving. They shouldn't qualify for an at-large, barring some truly bizarre finishes.

Looks like a two-horse race between Cinci and Pitt for the BE champ, though I suppose the Mountaineers could make it interesting--they do control their own destiny. And I don't even want to think about the ACC. Reminds me of a bucket of crabs; the ones on the bottom keep pulling the ones on top down.

My Yellowjackets should be able to handle Duke on the road on Saturday. I think Josh Nesbit is progressing as a quarterback along with our defense. Should be a good game though.
