quote Apollo
Hey guys, I'm 11 and I skate daily, I had stopped skating for 2 years because my skateboard got ran over by my mum's car >.< but I'm slowly regaining my balance, I've practiced using the aggro kick for my balance, I'm not great but I'm fine IMO, my ollie's messy and low, my kickflip is horrible, I can get the flick right and my shuv it is nearly perfect, any ideas on better ways to kickflip and ollie

okay to all you succas who say you stopped skating.
NEVER IN YOUR MUTHA FUCCEN LIFE STOP.
you will lose all your flexibility your feet movement has ever had.
sorta like something you usually do, but stop doing it , then sooner or later you completely forget.
so i warn, DO NOT STOP, BORROW SOMEONES BOARD, RIDE AROUND, RENT A DECK FROM THE SKATEPARK.

anyways, to improve your kickflip, you just need to flick right, and right timing, ill post a vid soon on youtube, ollies, what can i say, many people ollie diff, they have their flicking foot closer to their stomping foot, some have their flicking foot a little bit further.

and when you ollie, when you jump, jump as if you werent on a board, but still know what your doing.

i stopped skating for 5 days, my varials were gone.
but still got them back.

if i explained anything like crap, its because im rushing -_-
so juss pm for more details.
aha.

re: Skateboarding III

you say geez like somebody said it was super cold out. which it isnt. even though its usually like in the 20's, but still, even with that temperature, if its that cold when i can skate, im still gunna do it.

re: Skateboarding III

it depends what kind of surface your gunna grind on. if its a curb, then yeah, if its like marble, then you dont really need it so much, but it helps. and plastic is good to grind on. better for slides though. and for a cement curb or something, its going to take alot of wax for it to get good. it took me a giant candle and just random add ons to make this long curb in the front of my house fully waxed down and really good. so thats how it goes.

re: Skateboarding III

well i didnt mean geez like it was cold out
i just meant, with you guys saying you havent been skating with all these excuses, GEEZ.
and wax, candle wax i guess, is helpful on metal, or rails, curbs, sometimes plastic.
unless your deck is smooth already.
but yeah, but you just dont want anything too sticky.

re: Skateboarding III

well it usually doesnt get stick either way. and with it getting colder, it usually hardens better also.
and how is that a bad excuse or whatever. i would love to be able to get home and skate. but by then, its dark out, and unfortunately we have no street lights on my street. and i would go in my basement or garage, but my basement has low ceilings and carpets. and got no garage. me and my friend skate for 20 minutes at lunch every day, just so we have it in us. its not alot but it feels good. so yaaah. and weekends and stuff i can. but rarely still

re: Skateboarding III

well, you didnt say that above, did you.
and by skate, what do you mean
do you just get on a board, and pop a few flips then finish?
and i still skate no matter the condition.
im nto saying thats a pathetic excuse, cause i know some friends that barely skate cause of their place.
anyways, how are all of your tricks going.
what kinda tricks are you learning.

re: Skateboarding III

nah we just try and play skate. but we never really get anywhere, so basically we just switch off taking a trick each. he has a spare setup in his locker so we use that.
and i think i said that above. because of my swim practices, i get home at 5 30 and by then its dark out. yeah.
and i skate no matter what either. for the most part. just not after i swim for two hours. usually tired. the cold doesnt bother me at all though.
