re: Skateboarding III

Hey Mieka, it's cool your skating and everything and filming yourself is good fun but without sounding too harsh the prospect of getting a sponsor so early on in your skating career might not be a good idea. By all means film and have fun but don't get your hopes up okay?

Rain rain rain, can't skate again today because of it.

For some people it takes a long while to learn an ollie, for others it comes to them quickly. i did my ollies in a week or so. all it takes is dedication and practice and look at that you have the trick.
How much difference does a good board make?

Doesn't matter what board you use, when you start off everyone's the same, WE ALL SUCK. time and practice and dedication is what really matters, not the board you use.

re: Skateboarding III

I have two boards at home made by Element and they are no different to the plain onces I get from JJB or something.

Anywho, I have a question, does anyone here do their own designs on the back of plain decks or something. i was thinking of giving it a shot. Sparying it black then using templates or something.

No i have not done any designs, but my friend did but on the griptape instead. It came out really cool.

re: Skateboarding III

well depends, the wal mart boards are slow, so when beginners use them it might be good to use at first but then get rid of it afterward and go for a blank or a pro board.

re: Skateboarding III

Anyone got any tips on how to ollie and shuvit?

For the ollie, i cant get my back foot on, whenever i slide my front foot, the board moves, and i cant get my back foot on. But my front foot is on.

And for the shuvit, its opposite. I can only get my backfoot on, not the front. And half the time, the board goes into a 360 shuvit.

Any tips?

re: Skateboarding III

for a ollie your kicking out the board so that your backfoot cant get on, but personally, i wouldnt think that that would be a problem, since you juss only stomp with your back foot and slide your flicking foot, really simple, you dont do nothing but stomp with your back.

shuvit, for some people its because of uhh i forget the word but its lack of courage in doing it, but maybe thats the problem, and if it spins too much and you dont want to, then your scooping too hard, also scooping is the main key, you scoop with the backfoot and you let your front catch aswell as your back.

tips my ass.

re: Skateboarding III

Yea but when i ollie, i guess when i slide my front foot, it moves the board so its not in the right position anymore. And my back foot cant get on.

For the shuvit its the same thing. I got the courage, i dont care about falling. But the board moves and i can't get my front foot on.

re: Skateboarding III

then stop sliding your foot so out that you cant keep your backfoot on, your backfoot isnt suppose to be off at anytime during the ollie, unless its like a high air catch from a big ransfer

shuvit, try jumping higher than you normally do and scoop.

re: Skateboarding III

No i mean, its not that the board goes to far out the way im sliding my foot, its like the back part goes like to the left or right so i cant get my back foot on.

I'll try what you said for the shuvit.

re: Skateboarding III

Shove It's is honestly about having the courage to commit. If your able to get one foot on then you really should be able to get 2 as long as you commit. I must say it seems weird your front foot coming off, never heard of that problem before, but with the easy beginner tricks such as this it's all really about practise.

Only tip I have is to make sure you don't centre your wait where your bum is and try to keep it on the other way, the board jumps forward so your going to need to aswell.
