About this committee idea, I hope you're all aware that you have no real authority to order anyone to do anything. Also, if a member outside of the committee wishes to do anything/contest/idea then he or she is entitled too.

I personally think it's a terrible idea. Seems elitist and excludes other regulars/visitors from thinking they have a voice or say in things.

I'll be chatting to Klope62 about this but I just don't want those of you in the committee to get any grand delusions . You can help the forum without forming an exclusive club.

Q22 said it in a nutshell, glad to see that you are all trying to put in a lot of effort to keep the community going and strong, but there is a line that must be drawn somewhere here. Currently, even with the great stats that the forum has, about all of that is coming from the Off Topic discussion and the game threads. It is really off-balance, which is unfortunately not what we like to typically see here.

I can tell you now, that some of the game threads will be closed. I am waiting to discuss with Avalith which ones they will be. I can tell you now though, that "Whodunnit?" and "They say...Wait, no they don't!" are in danger, as they were never officially approved.

As for the 'committee' idea, I believe you guys are a smart bunch, so I personally am leaving it up in the air. You have Q22's opinion there though, and most likely Avalith's soon.

That's about, it. No one is really in "trouble" or anything, so no worries. You can just continue on for now until farther notice.

Hey all. Sorry it's taken me so long to get around here again, but I've not been feeling good the last few days and have had some real life issues come up that needed to be dealt with, but they're all sorted out now and it's down to business. Anyway, here's how I see it in this forum:

The committee is really a terrible idea. While it's great that you all care about the forum, it's not really fair for only a select few to have a say in how things ought to be run. While you guys don't really have a lot of say in the first place, Klope and I are generally pretty accommodating and usually have no problem letting you guys have some fun with games.

When it gets to this level, though, someone's got to step in and help guide things back to how they should be. I think the easiest thing to do here is to let all current game threads run through for another few pages and then shut them all down for a while. The same goes for the general discussion. It really shouldn't exist in the first place without a local forum moderator to watch over it, so that will likely be the first thing to go. I don't like having to put restrictions on what can and can't be done in a forum, but I've had to do many things I don't exactly like doing in the past. So for now, here's my proposal that you can all muse over in this thread for the next day or so.

All current game threads will be allowed to continue until they hit the closest multiple of five. If the last page number is already a multiple of five, I'll allow it to go five more pages. After that, the threads will be shut down until the level of game and non-game discussion is a bit more balanced. As things improve, I'm willing to introduce one or two game threads at a time and let them keep going on the condition that things keep improving. The game threads to be reopened will be chosen by Klope62 and/or myself. Take note, however, that the off-topic general discussion will not be reopened.

I can't really think of anything else that's very fair at the moment, but I'm open to your opinions on what we can do to tweak this to make it work better.
