Limit break question

I just got this game and I do not understand how limits work in this game. Does anyone know?

re: Limit break question

  1. The DMW spins around using 10 SP each spin.
  2. When two faces match, it goes into the modulating phase
  3. If the middle face matches the other two, then a limit break can be performed
  4. The limit break depends on the character.

re: Limit break question

Yeah, think of it as a slot Machine. You'll get certain benefits, such as landing on a "specific character" you'll be completely healed or damage all enemies on the field. The numbers will be randomized also next to the portrait of the Character. If you match two numbers, 1 and 1 for an example. The materia you have in the first slot will be leveled (same goes for 2,2 3,3 etc.). If you match up three 7's you'll level. Watch out if you're cursed since that will stop the DMV from spinning, knocking out the ability to do limits and leveling up.

At your stage it's probably just for spinning the DMW, but later in the game you will need it for Materia Fusion.

or you could have read it and not noticed, i only realy got to understand it completly in a second reading

yeah, reading does explain alot. however, i never read the manual when i buy a new game. usually i'll play it until i get stuck on something or don't know what to do next, then i read the booklet.
